Yeah, we interned German and Italian nationals, not AMerican citizens of German or Italian extraction. Not unless there was evidence of collaboration with Hitler or Mussolini.

German-Americans and Italian-Americans were most certainly interned.

Where do you get information about the U.S. government interning American citizens of Italian or German background during WW2??

Eisenhower was of German extraction, as were numerous other American military leaders and soldiers. Many American troops in WW2 were of Italian extraction. I never heard about these people having their families interned.
