Pounds per pound, makes sense to me.

But that's THE LAW. They should obviously go to jail.
The Brits will live to regret the day they gave this unholy superstate power over their lives. Well, some of them will, maybe.

While I deplore the police state tactics being used by Euro Bureaucrats to enforce their web of regulations, virtually the whole world uses the metric system. It's time the US and Britain to join the rest of civilization and quit using archaic measures like furlongs, inches and pounds.

I guess it's going to take Brits a while to realize that they're not a free independent country anymore.

Granted, the Brits are not a part of the EU, but isn't this similar to Article 1, sec. 8, cl. 5 of the US Constituion, which gives the Federal Congress the power to coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures.

Just wait, some prissy pro-metric will chime in on how behind the times we are for wanting to stick to our pints and yardsticks...I think it's funny that the Eurotrash fail even to influence people to use metric.
In 1984 by Orwell, there is a scene when a pub drinker expresses his ire over the demise of the pint. Liter too much, half-liter too little, but the pint had been just right. Shouldn't listen to the French...
