The United States has 15 million doses of smallpox vaccine and tests are underway to see if these can be stretched out by diluting them.

It was my impression we didnt have any vaccine - Am I imagining this - what were your recollections ?

No, we had some, we also purchased some. The problem was always that we didn't have enough immediately available. There was a great deal of worry right after 9-11 that a smallpox virus would be let loose before we were able to produce enough vaccine.
