I'm not familar with either of your experts, Kocovic or Zerjavic, however I would not believe any Serb casualty figures coming from a Croat since the Croat nazis were among the most inhumane bloodthirsty perpetrators during WW II and I haven't seen many indications of improvement since then.
Concerning your Yugoslav State estimate of 1957, I believe Yugoslavia was under the heel of communist Marshall Tito at the time. No one in their right mind is going to believe his casualty estimates since he not only was Croat but a major perpetrator of casualties among Serb "freedom fighters"...you know...shooting men in the back as they fought the nazi invaders. In another thread he claimed that Serbs "destroyed" the Jasenovac memorial, which Croats shelled throughout the period between 1991 and 1995. He also claimed Serbs "stole" their own history, by transporting priceless documents to safety away from the site of Croatian shelling.
Tropoljac apparently believes Serb history was safe under Franjo Tudjman, a published Holocaust denier, who destroyed millions of documents in Croatian archives for no other reason than they were written in Cyrillic script (used more often in Serbia but still understandable to most Croats under the Yugosalv school system).
