OK, I put on my Colombo hat. Here is what happened. Mom came back to the house with a couple of guys, who all were a bit drunk. Sex was the main event, with the husband sleeping. At different times, all of the guys probably excused themselves to relieve themselves in the bathroom, which was probably next door to the girls room. One of the guys decided to have sex with the girl. He woke her, she made some noise, he covered her mouth....and eventually suffocated to death. He went back in, and picked up his clothing and left. Mom didn't notice nothing, and she eventually fell asleep. The killer returned knowing the backdoor was open. He took the body to make it appear to be a kidnapping. He likely drove less than an hour away and dumped the body and made sure nothing in terms of evidence would be seen in the car (body stuffed in a garbage bag prior to putting in a car). The parents can claim innocence, because they didn't know of her murder, but they likely set the situation up with strangers in the house, and caused the murder to occur.
