"....they are still held in contempt by the rest of the world."

Have they ever thought it could be related to the contempt THEY hold for the rest of the world?

I agree with you. The liberals who pushed the open borders policies, caused a flood of Moslems to invade England and France. As we know, Moslems cannot be anywhere on this planet without organizing, and starting troubles. Specially, when they get lots of money from Saudi Arabia.

This excessive anti-France bias on this board, if it was observed by the French people, it will not help keeping them our allies.

"And which group . . ."

Yup. The irony is not lost on me. "Some people" do not understand that the greatest threat to world peace is, in fact, Islam, and that the surest bulwark against this threat is militant Christian nationalism.

"Sometimes you reap what you sow."

Unfortunately, we also reap what they sow.

But I hope it is!

Please, spread the word in France that we think of them as nicely as they think of us. Whats wrong with that?

It is interesting that the German people have been held somewhat responsible for following Hitler and apparently many of them suffer at least a modicum of guilt for the fact that they or their parents fell under Hitler's spell. Not much, but it does exist in Germany.

The Germans have been held "somewhat" responsible? "At least a modicum of guilt" felt by the Germans? "Not much" guilt felt? Umm, have you read a newspaper the last few decades?

However never have the Frogs considered demonstrating one second of guilt for following that psycho Italian, Bonaparte, who laid waste to so much of Europe for so many years. Today they still laud that bozo who nearly destroyed their own nation with his wars.

Why should the French of today feel guilty about Napolean? Should I feel guilty about slavery?

Twas the Frogs who gave us our first (semi)industrialized World War. They are proud of this fact.

Have you read any of the hundreds of history books which explain the origins of WWI? True, the worst battles (if you can even call the slow slaughters in the trenches a battle) took place on French soil. But the French are one of the least culpable of the European powers for starting WWI.

France will ruin any country that allies with it. Look at the Vietnam War, a direct result of attempting to be friends with France.

A little bit more to it than that, don't you think?

France is a cancer. Burn it out.

This tells me everything I need to know about you. Hypocrite.

France is always in the avon garde of things. They have great capacity for intellectual thinking. Something that is missing from the foaming at the mouth hate that is spewed against them on this board.

You too, one day, when you find the time to think, you too may find that organized religions are responsible for lots of hate on this planet. We may actually discover the obvious, that religions were invented by men to establish good codes of conduct between people.

Quite the phallic little bird, don't you think?
The official bird of France is the Rooster. Not only is this a completely retarded bird to represent your country with, but it also proves the long held theory that all Frenchmen love cocks.

A large segment of the French people are in sympathy with these attacks, even if they let their Mohammadan former colonial subjects do their dirty work :(

I'm not trying to start an arguement with you, but you seem to be making a fairly serious charge here. How do you know what goes on in the minds of "a large segment" of the French people? I would surmise that a a vocal and violent small percentage could make one believe that others with a similiar demographic makeup share their view... when they don't. Jews have been stereotyped and slandered in the same fashion. We don't want to become the enemy that we abhore.

Oh, please, can you forward these thread (and all of the others like it) to someone in authority in the French Government? Maybe something good will come of this after all.

When considering the past millenium, I would have to sugggest that 1870 through 1918 represent something of an aberration in Franco-German relations.

Agreed. One forgets that until very recently there was no Germany or France per se. I think that the aberration you speak about was due to the nation building which occurred throughout Europe during the mid-nineteenth century.

Hardly, old fellow! Everyone interested seriously in food knows that French haute cuisine did not exist before Catherine de Medici married Henry II and tooks her cooks with her from Florence to Paris. The origin of haute cuisine de France is in the alta cucina of Northern Italy! So one cannot credit the French with even the one thing of which they are most proud after their wine!

I will admit French wine can be exquisite, an accident of geography, but it is only Pinot Noir wines that have not been equalled elswhere by now.

This is odd, since I have been reading for the last several years that the French are starting to hate and attack Arabs and blacks. The exception to this would be the people living in Paris.

Yep. And the French "resistance" was heavily Stalinist. Once the Soviets launched their 1944 Spring offensive it was clear to Stalin that the Germans were done for. The French "resistance" then became less than helpful to the Americans and British in France.

But the French are one of the least culpable of the European powers for starting WWI.

Wrong! The French government is perhaps the most responsible for the outbreak of war in 1914:

Virtually all of the Powers agreed that the Serbs had a drubbing coming for the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, although many thought the Austrian ultimatum both late and overharsh.

Nonetheless, the Russians, supporting the Serbs based on pan-Slavic associations egged on by the French, wanted to protect Serbia without a wider war. The Russians had a problem: they wanted to mobilize only against Austria, not Germany, but since 1910 there had been no updated plans for doing this. The Tsar vacillated, not wanting to go to war with Germany. But, who else but the French Ambassador (whose government was at sea, returning from a visit to Russia), Maurice Peleologue, turned himself to the task of ensuring that the Russians mobilized, which meant mobilizing against Germany. Once Russia declared mobilization, the Germans had no choice but to mobilize and put their Schlieffen Plan (as unfortuantely modified by von Moltke the Younger, weaking the right wing that was to wheel through Belgium). The absolute critical point on the decision tree, the one point at which the whole thing could have been localized in the Balkans, was the Russian mobilization decision. The weak Tsar, egged on by Peleologue and Russian generals under his influence, was pushed into a decision he did not want to make. More than any single individual, Mo Peleologue is responsible for the millions of deaths in WWI and its aftermath, and hence, as he represented France, the French government is responsible!

It's fun trolling for degraded Frogophiles.

Why don't you go soak your head in a bucket of another one of France's gifts to the world.... Thorazine.

Moslems in the US did the bad deed against us. It was caused by the US liberal policies that allowed hatefull Moslems to come here. The same thing in France or England. Liberal policies bring in worthless Moslems who go and grafity a Jewish cemetary, foe example; that does not mean that France is anti-semitic. You are just paranoid

The French are intellectuals. They critic eveybody including themselves. They love the USA. There is a lottery in France for a green-card to come to the US, people are waiting in line to put their names in. France is wonderful country, and a good ally. It helped us win our revolution against the Brits. Give it a rest, and stop talking negative about France. Vive La France!
