Come on¡. Who is going to attack Jewish shops in France but the Arab hordes who live there? So, the attacks on the French Jewish community are much more related to the huge, huge problem France has: millions of alienated young Arabs that are a bomb waiting to explode.

Arab immigrants from North Africa who are angry about Israel's harsh treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Shouldn't that be the perceived "harsh treatment"? or at least alleged "harsh treatment"? What blatant bias.

Notice how the spin is that Muslims are victimized by Jews. Yet the violence is not Jews attacking Arabs, but rather the other way around.

Muslims are truly a pathetic bunch--just like liberals they run around attacking people and then when those people retaliate they whine that they are being "victimized". Typical and Sickening

I'm a bit hyperbolic, I'll confess, but the French tolerate this nonsense and have encouraged and permitted the Moslem immigration. A large segment of the French people are in sympathy with these attacks, even if they let their Mohammadan former colonial subjects do their dirty work :( [the more things change, the more they remain the same....]

Just as the Pakistani police have decided that Daniel Pearl is to blame for his kidnapping because he should have known how risky it was to be in their crime-ridden country, the French government will decide (or already have) that Jews should know better than to live in France.

When I was in France in 2000, I saw many swastikas drawn and scratched on the walls in a toilet at a private Roman Catholic high school.

Long story....but the kids who attend the school are from all over France. I was very surprised to say the least...and even more surprised, that nobody had cleaned them off the walls...for apparently, a long time. ECCKKKK!!

Ah, the French. Who perhaps wonder why, despite their remarkable cuisine, beautiful cities, melodic language and attractive women, they are still held in such contempt by the rest of the world.

Will the French become state sponsors of terrorism ?

Well they did harbor the Ayatollah Khomeini for 15 years, sounds like supporting state terrorism to me.

The French were an active ally of the Germans.

How did one hundred years of intense hatred disappear at that time? After 1870 and WWI I find it hard to believe that the French would suddenly embrace the Germans. Personally, I don't think the French like anyone - Jews, Catholics, Brits, Germans, Americans, Arabs, etc. But they are survivors, you have to give them that.

If anyone is the rightful ideological descendant of the AF it would have to be the Front Nationale and, last time I heard, they wanted to terminate (and reverse) Islamic imigration into France.

And which group cries the loudest about racism and intolerance whenever nationalism and anti-immigrationism are endorsed by politicians and their supporters in Europe (or the U.S. for that matter)? Sometimes you reap what you sow.

"I don't need a foaming at the mouth right wonger to teach me who started what."

You don't want us to tell you about how foaming at the mouth Europeans tried to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth and the United States has been paying for it ever sence?

You don't want us to tell you that we would not have these problems, in Israel, if not for the Europeans?

Where do we sign up for this hand wringing?

France fooled itself into believeing that it wasn't defeated by Germany - just allied. Further German propganda was very good in France- it wasn't nationalistic and did not rub the defeat in the face of the French. Germany portrayed the war as that of Western Continental Europe against the communist hordes of the East. Anti communism was a prime recruitment tool of the Germans for French enlisted men and officers in their army and special french regiments of the SS. More French took up arms in support of their German Allies than fought (and I use that term sparingly since they engaged in little combat of any note) with the resistance or in the Free French of De Gaulle.

It is interesting that the German people have been held somewhat responsible for following Hitler and apparently many of them suffer at least a modicum of guilt for the fact that they or their parents fell under Hitler's spell. Not much, but it does exist in Germany.

However never have the Frogs considered demonstrating one second of guilt for following that psycho Italian, Bonaparte, who laid waste to so much of Europe for so many years. Today they still laud that bozo who nearly destroyed their own nation with his wars. Twas the Frogs who gave us our first (semi)industrialized World War. They are proud of this fact.

France will ruin any country that allies with it. Look at the Vietnam War, a direct result of attempting to be friends with France.

France is a cancer. Burn it out.

the French really are inferior!

If it was not for the French, you would still be eating blood pudding with your fingers as the brits!

The French were an active ally of the Germans.

The French, leading up to WW-2, were mostly divided between Fascism and Communism. The reason France folded so fast when Germany attacked, was that the French Fascists didn't want to fight the Germans. With the Hitler-Stalin pact still in force, the Communists didn't want to fight either.

I think the idea of an ongoing Franco-German blood feud is highly overstated. The 1870-71 War (which France started, by the way) was one of the very few wars in two or three hundred years where the French did not have German allies. Among the most reliable regiments in the French royal army were those raised in Germany. Around a third of the troops who marched into Russia with Napoleon were from the German allied states A substantial portion of the Legion Etrangere in Indochina consisted of German veterans, including many Waffen-SS.

When considering the past millenium, I would have to sugggest that 1870 through 1918 represent something of an aberration in Franco-German relations.
