VANITY: Neil Young rocks at concert, oh yes, Crosby Stills & Nash were there too

Just had to write after seeing Crosby Stills Nash & Young in Grand Rapids Michigan tonight in concert. It was a fabulous concert. Most amazing was Neil Young, who electrified the crowd. He had so much energy. He seemed to carry everyone else. His two songs "Let's Roll" and "Keep on Rockin in the Free World", both written about 9-11, set the arena on fire.
I highly recommend this concert if you are near one of their stops. They do a nice mix of oldies and new songs. Man they were just great.

Gee, funny, "Rockin' in the Free World" came out about 13 years ago.

Good to see everyone following Jim Robinson's guidelines about vanities.

This should have been on the Breaking News page.

"Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" is at least five years old.

Man, I would have loved to be there to hear him sing Let's Roll. I bet you Young will be entertaining the troops.

Always been a great fan of CSNY. But how was Young's voice? Last time I heard it he wasn't sounding too good. But there's always the old stuff.

He sounded YOUNG. He sounded great. The funny thing is I have not been that big a fan of his. Always liked David Crosby better. But Young just was awesome.
By the way, their web site is www.csny.net if anyone wants to check out their tour stops.

Sorry, I was just being a crank. Glad to pass on the knowledge though.

Thanks for that. Always considered Steven Stills to be the best talented one. At least he wrote my favorites like Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and Carry On. But David Crosby did write Guinnevere, which is great tune.

Older CSN&Y has trouble recapturing that '60s intensity

Thanks for the link to the review. Grand Rapids was the third stop on their tour. They were better than this review said.

You don't like Neil's voice? Listen to Silver and Gold from just a year or so ago. He's in good form; getting better all the time!

Did Young sing "Southern Man"?

I live in the deep south, and around here he's about as welcome as AIDS. "Sweet Home Alabama" is real popular in these parts.

As for sperm donor Crosby, I wouldn't cross the road to see him.

...saw CSN (not Y) around 1990 before Clinton was elected. Stills was bagging on Bush big time. I can remember his quote well...

"he's f**king fired!!"

it pissed me off then...and pisses me off even more now.

Love their music, but Stills is an a**hole!

No, he didn't sing Southern Man. I know what you mean about Crosby the sperm donor. And we overlooked some slide shots on the monitors before the show advertising greenpeace and farm aid.
