Must be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess.
Like the WTC and the Pentagon on September 11? If you excuse brutality against innocent civilians anywhere, you excuse it everywhere.

The difference being, of course, that we didn't start this war. They did. They have a culture and belief system that allows despotic rule by the Taliban.

It's their tough damned luck. I would have used nukes.

I made no excuses, Dr. I simply made a statement of opinion. I think you read too much into my comments. And, yes, the same is true of those who died at WTC, the Pentagon, and the aircraft in PA: They were definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time. No excuses--just a statement of the cruel facts.
