Well, they just showed it. Hope you caught it. Tears were running down his face. They had a little interview following, and I almost got choked up.

It is stories like his that make me an Olympic fan. I know everyone thinks it's all big hooha over highly paid professionals, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. I mean, the guy works at Home Depot.

Yes, I just caught it. This is what the Olympics are about! I think I read he lives in Utah to train part of the year.

Oh, yes, NBC in it's infinite goodness, is replaying the same crappy stuff they showed earlier this evening. Sheesh, they could just show the competition during the night, and we could all tape it and watch it tomorrow. I'm writing a long email to NBC right now, telling them how they can improve their coverage...

If I thought it would make one tiny bit of difference, I would write. But this coverage is so incredibly lame that it HAS to be by design.

It's a terrible shame...I've enjoyed the heck out of all I've seen so far! I'd forgotten that there are so many events that I like.

Don't feel bad about ranting. I feel the same way. I cannot believe they only showed about 1/3 of the women's moguls finals! Then we watch all these stupid bios and putrid commercials instead. And the ski jumping!!! WHAT were they thinking when they set up the cameras? They were too close to the jumper, and you could see neither their form on their skis, nor their distance above the ground. So you see, I could gripe for an hour over this too. And I could also gripe about what those California developers did to Park City and the Heber Valley/Midway area...;o)

So much for technology and a lot for control and money which has nothing to do with what's actually going on in the Olympics.

I sent an email to NBC complaining about Costas' attitude both last night and the night before at the opening ceremony.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they don't have all day programming on Sat & Sun so we could see LIVE what is going on! It's in the United States after all, and therefore no time zone business. Besides, even when it's half way across the world, I'd get up to watch. But no, even then they have to tape delay everything. I'm with you, minimize the profiles and commercials and show the d*mn sports.

I just started Day 3's live thread for the Winter Olympics. The events have started already, the coverage by NBC has not...

Seems like every olympics is a disappointment in terms of coverage. CBC was claming to have live coverage of figure skating but in reality only for a select few pairs and then they kept switching to another sport. I wish they would show it all the way through because even the sucky skaters put it all into perspective of just how difficult it is to win. I think that iskater.com has live full coverage you can sign up for. I might get better coverage on my Imac.
