/2/ S&W is the "sell out" company, traitors to the 2nd amd.

Smith and Wesson is in the name of the caliber because they participated in the study with the FBI for the ideal personal ammunition (good one-shot-stop stats, etc.). .40 S&W ammo doesn't in an of itself support their company unless you buy a S&W .40S&W, as far as I know.

Curious:You stated you were in the NRA 10-11 years, yet no longer. I wonder, was it a culmination of events that caused you to leave NRA or one major event? Always regret it when someone leaves the fold. Even our biggest critic, Neal Knox has advised all to STAY in the NRA and not quit. What can be done to bring you and others back?

In addition to being Patron NRA member, I have been a Life member of GOA for years now. Two barrels better than one...

The reason for not renewing was money. I was in the middle of a move, and money was tight. Once I got settled and reevaluated my finances I noticed that the NRA, was looking a little to militant for my taste. When I was growing up, the NRA was all about gun safety and the such, But lately, it just seemed to me (maybe I'm wrong), that they were starting to use the same tactics that the anti-gun people were using (i.e. scare tactics and misinformation). And while it was not the norm, It did seem to pop up more often.

On the original thread that Nov3 is talking about, the author was using misinformation, and I proved it. Of course there response was that, once the bill passed, congress would change it to what they were talking about. Just more lies. While I don't trust Congress to do the right thing, and the bill should be scraped, what right does any organization have to lie or mislead the public.

Because of that I decided not to renew my membership. Does that mean I will never become a member? No. I may again become a member in the future, but it is my money and I decide who I will support.

As for support for the 2nd Amendment, I support it, as well as other organizations that support it. I'm a member of the VFW, the Marine Corps League and the FOP. All of these organizations support the 2nd Amendment.

Nov3 is just pissed because he is in love with the NRA, and someone came along and pointed out some flaws. No organization is perfect or always does the right thing, especially when it comes to politics.

I agree with that. My apologies, I thought you were attacking me, because I do not currently give money to the NRA.

Whatever you do - DON'T buy one of these guns!

BAD GUN

Seriously - A SIG .40 or .45 (I Love Mine) is just what you need.

It seems a little big and hard to conceal, other than that, it looks ok. LOL.

sorry, gun tests is a joke. They have no standard test procedure, just give the guns to some guys of unknown repute and have them shoot the gun. I'd rather take gun advice from chuck schumer.

XS>"Be very careful before you choose a Kahr.
XS>"Gun Tests" magazine rates the K40 as "Don't Buy"; however a MK40 is rated "Conditional buy" as a belly gun."
My experience is that the K9 is great - but that the K40 sucks; read my reviews of both.

Thanks for the link. I believe I viewed your page some time ago. I have bookmarked it

It sure beats asking chuckie schumer's or hillery's advice ( even though they are of known repute).

Please post the thread, were I said "The NRA are a bunch of lying BS artists on par with HCI".

Here you go.

Unfortunately the Pro-Gun people are using the same misinformation tactics the Anti-gun people use, this is the main reason I did not renew my NRA membership.

All throughout your thread there is a disdain of the "pro-gun people". Maybe if we agreed with Lieberman and the FOP we would be OK in your eyes.

God, knows what you think of those of us in the GOA. We are some real extremists.

I will always point out hypocrisy on this issue. To sit there and say the NRA is "MILITANT" and uses the same lying misinformation tactics that HCI uses and then post a thread asking for Advice on a Weapons Purchase is either an indication of hypocrisy or a total lack of contact with reality. The rest of us citizens would not be able to purchase a gun like you are considering without the NRA's work.

I will always point out people like you.

I just got home from work, spool up the computer, and a thread on "need advice on weapons purchase", reply 209, is on the screen.

Now what are the odds that the reply on the screen has either TO: Travis McGee or From: Travis McGee in it?LOL

It's the same cal. as my service weapon and I get almost unlimited free ammo from work.

You work in the INS, right? Either way, how much does it cost taxpayers to pay for the five million+ government employees theft of taxpayer property?

The most concealable .40 is the Keltec P40. They have quit manufacturing them in the last few months due to the utter incompetence of most shooters. If you limp wrist it much it will not feed due to the extremely small size/weight.

I have one and use it for summertime carry and it runs fine as long as you know its limitations.

Here is the weapon I speak of in a well known figure's hand.

I would guess (haven't seen anything else close to the size of the Keltec) that the next smallest would be a Glock subcompact (I don't have their model numbers memorized) in .40.

/2/ S&W is the "sell out" company, traitors to the 2nd amd.

That's why if you want an SW you buy used. They haven't put out anything in the last few years so wonderfull that it couldn't be passed up for a competitor's variant anyway.

I'm glad I got my .40 SW99 before the sellout because I'm very happy with it.

Marine Inspector you may find it interesting that I bought a .40 because at the time I purchased it a few years ago nobody was making a .45 that was concealable (not subcompact) and held more than 7 rounds.

I didn't want to do the 9mm thing for the usual reasons and I read how the Border Patrol had switched to .40 (started as the 10 mm and all that stuff) and had a good success rate with that round so I went looking for a weapon in that caliber.

Some may say you start with your purpose(ccw, duty, etc.) and then look at caliber but with all the choices out there now you can choose caliber first now and then look at model choices.

Yes I know INS and the border patrol are two different things.

Travis I'm full on hooked on gun shopping now.

If I could afford it I'd get a new toy every month.

I even wait for the Big 5 ads to come in the mail so I can look at the Mosing Nagant M44s for 49 bucks that I'm never going to buy.

I have also given up 12 years of my life, to support not only the 2nd Amendment, but every Amendment, along with the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States. So between the two of us, I've given more to the defense of this Nation and it's principals than you ever will.

Meanwhile you are so casual about stealing from the taxpayers that you have no qualms admitting it.

It's the same cal. as my service weapon and I get almost unlimited free ammo from work.

Ninety-nine percent of members of congress violate their oath of office to the constitution and the people. 20,000 unconstitutional gun laws is just the start of a very long list. Does your job support those corrupt politicians in congress or does your job expose those corrupt politicians?

You and your job are part of the parasitical elite support structure and have casually taken to stealing from taxpayers.

I'm not high on S&W either, but I get 1,500 rounds a year, and I am currently sitting on over 4,000 rounds. So I want to stick with it.

Okay, so you're not stealing from taxpayers. That's good to know. You could return the unused rounds -- just a thought. Glad I got this posted before you responded to my other two posts to you 211 and  215

How can it be theft, if is issued to me, for my use. The INS has a list of weapons that we can carry off duty (they are all .40 cal). When we chose to carry one of them, we must qualify with that weapon, just like our duty carry weapon. The ammo is issued to us, for off duty practice, so we can maintain our shooting skills.

So not there is not theft of government property. Get the facts before spreading rumors.

I did not see post #116, before posting this.

I don't think my firearms instructor would take it back, and if he did, he would just find someone to take it and shoot it.

I personaly like the round, and we are issued Remington ammo. So I see no reason not to get my personal weapon in the same cal.

I'm sorry, but I will not support an organization, no matter how well meaning they are, that distorts the truth, to gain support, as the author of the original article did.

You get your orders from your government job right? You work for one of the largest and most pervasive distortion-of-truth organizations. Certainly the most value destroying organization. Did I hear someone on this thread say 'hypocrite'?
