Hello Everyone,
I am currently in the market to purchase a personal handgun, and would like some advice on what would be a good choice. The only requirements I have are that it must be a .40 S&W and be small and concealable. If you have any experience with a weapon that looks like it would meet those requirements, please post and let me know.
Thanks,
Marine Inspector.
Handguns are not my fav anyway if it comes time to pack the lunch and load the mags I'll take my AR-15 or my M1A or my Weatherby over a handgun anyday, they being a speciality use item anyway. IMHO
From the time you jumped into this thread, you have gained very little or no support from any of the other posters.
You continue to lie and spread misinformation about me and my other postings, and dodge any and all questions asked of you.
In post 89 you accused me of having special privileges, when it comes to purchasing handguns. Please post the section of law that points these privileges out, because I know of none.
In post 174 and 175, you accused me of carping about other peoples beliefs, and when I asked for specifics, you could not give them, but went on about your personal attack on me.
So once again, please post the link to any thread, where I have attacked someone for their beliefs?
If you wish to support the NRA, that is your right. If I do not wish to support the NRA, that is my right.
Whether you want to believe it or not, the NRA is not the Sir Lancelot, you believe them to be. While they are very good and have done allot of good, every organization, that battles in the political arena, uses deception tactics. And in the original article, there were parts that were misleading.
Before you respond to this post, please take the time to post the links, as failure to do so, will further prove my point.

How many rounds in that magazine that you buy through your department? If you're not working to help support the Second Amendment, you're a parasite. There are only 4.5 million members in the NRA. There are only about a million with GOA. The politicians look at those numbers and then they pass all the gun laws they want. If those numbers were what they should be, no gun laws would be passed in this country.
The number of rounds in the magazine is irrelevant. Yes, as an LEO I can purchase high capacity magazines through my department, but like every one else, if I go to a gun shop, I get no special privileges. If I want high capacity mags, I have to purchase the pre-ban mags like everyone else. Once again, you, like Nov3, are spreading misinformation.
Also, if you are such a bad shot, and can not take down your target with 10 rounds, then you should not be carrying a handgun. You don't hear people who carry revolvers complain that they don't have enough rounds.
Also, just because I don't give money to the NRA, does not mean I don't support the 2nd Amendment. It also does not mean I don't give, or have given money, to other groups that support the 2nd Amendment.
So, your claim that any none NRA member is a parasite, is a personal attack on me and the rest of the people who support the 2nd Amendment, but not through the NRA. Maybe if people like you, would stop being so high and mighty, the NRA might have more members. But, who wants to join an organization, who's members consider you a parasite, if you have not been a life long member.
I've only supported the NRA from 10 or 11 years, but I'm a parasite, because I don't send them money now.
Pretty weak argument, but that is what I have come to expect form people like you and Nov3.
I don't care squat about certain of the other posters on this thread. Anybody who is not part of the process and sits around complaining is nothing but a loudmouth. Further they are free riding on the backs of those of us who take responsibility and work to maintain our rights. You and your polar opposites, militia types, who think the NRA is part of the NWO sit around here and slam the NRA. You do nothing but run your mouth period. Then you come to this forum and slam citizens like me who are banding together in the NRA as a bunch of lying, dissembling cluckers who are no better than HCI. That behavior speaks for itself.
Again you and the militia types on this thread need to look up the definition of hypocrite. Parasite and whiner is another word that merits definition on the militia types part. I can understand YOUR views as someone who apparently has worked for the government the majority of his adult life but these slugs are worse than the people who post here and don't give any money. My wife and I don't have much but we realize a responsibility to give time and money to causes that will help my children grow up in America. I am overdue for another donation as we speak.
The assertion that LEOs cannot purchase banned weaponry is so patently ridiculous that it didn't even prompt a reaction. Why don't you go down to you local gunshop present your ID and tell him you need to purchase some Hi Cap mags. You get them. Me a lawful citizen of this country can't do that. That is Bravo Sierra.
You ask me to post links. I will not waste my Sunday morning doing that. Besides I don't see any links that you have posted.
Now I recomend that every time the NRA comes up on this forum you sit there and type how worthless and hypocritical WE are. That will make you a lot of freinds on this forum. Further go ahead and try to slam me for pointing out to others that the person who posted the thread "Need Advice on Weapons Purchase" sits there and slams the organization that protects the REST OF OUR RIGHTS to own these same weapons. I will always be willing to point out this behavior.
Lastly, us citizens (not LEOS) would not be able to purchase the guns we are able to if it wasn't for the NRA. If you deny that you need to get a brain.
Tell me you aren't using that as an argument to support your point of view now.
The number of rounds in the magazine is irrelevant. Yes, as an LEO I can purchase high capacity magazines through my department, but like every one else, if I go to a gun shop, I get no special privileges. If I want high capacity mags, I have to purchase the pre-ban mags like everyone else.
You ask me to post links. I will not waste my Sunday morning doing that. Besides I don't see any links that you have posted.
According to you, you have seen these attacks. Why not post the like that you saw. Or were you making that up?
Read post #190. Your attacks are getting weaker.
My experience is that the K9 is great - but that the K40 sucks; read my reviews of both.
A magazine is not a weapon. You stated that I get special privileges in weapons purchases. I don not. I can not go to a gun shop and purchase anything that you can not purchase.
Also, if you are such a bad shot, and can not take down your target with 10 rounds, then you should not be carrying a handgun. You don't hear people who carry revolvers complain that they don't have enough rounds.
That's what I said. I worded it with the word "if". I also stated it in a way that it didn't say anything about joining a particular group. I also stated that the politicians look at those numbers and voted accordingly.
I'm past worrying about hurting someone's feelings about this. If you're working for the Second Amendment then you're not the person I'm concerned about, not that you care what I think. I am very tired of helping others who want to learn to shoot, taking them to the range, letting them use my guns and ammo and them learn they are a clinton supporter and want to ban everyone else's gun but their own. A freedom lover wants freedom for others.
A person who wants freedom for just themselves wants to be somone's master.
In additon to being Patron NRA member, I have been a Life member of GOA for years now. Two barrels better than one...
Please post the thread, were I said "The NRA are a bunch of lying BS artists on par with HCI".
Once again you are posting lies and misinformation.
If you look at the original thread, I stated "Unfortunately the Pro-Gun people are using the same misinformation tactics the Anti-gun people use, this is the main reason I did not renew my NRA membership."
And the part that you left out, was that the poster of that article, could not dispute that fact on that thread. The fact is that thread was misleading and I proved it.
Now you can continue to post lies, and call me a hypocrite, but the truth is, you have done no more to support the second Amendment than I have.
While you have donated your money for what 20, 30 years, and I have only donated money for 10 or 11 years, I have also given up 12 years of my life, to support not only the 2nd Amendment, but every Amendment, along with the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States. So between the two of us, I've given more to the defense of this Nation and it's principals than you ever will.
