In the past few months I have noticed that the posters on Free Republic have become more and more hostile towards social conservatism.
And I do not mean indifference (less pro life threads etc) but an outright hostility at pro life and other social conservative causes.
Am I alone in thinking this?
In particular, notice the responses to the thread concerning the recent request by social conservative groups to the FCC to reign in Fox's racey primetime programs.
I wonder if this is becoming only a haven for hedonists and libertarians, and if so, perhaps it would be better for social conservatives to find their own site.
And I would give a rat's ass about this, why?
And Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt both favor tougher drug laws.
Some much for guilt by association.
What else ya got?
I just think that it's a cop-out to start yanking people or their posts because they aren't Bible-believing Christians. Don't confuse my hesitance to act with a lack of caring, though. I think you, and I stated this in my reply, are correct that there are an increasing number of scientists on dope around here.
Of course, Democrats from conserative or moderately conservative areas support tougher drug laws. It would be poiticial suicide not to.
Wow.... you really told me.
I would truly love to hear how you rationalize that one. Heat will not pass spontaneously from a cold body to a hot one. What does that even have to do with evolution?
f.christian?
Is that you?
As simple as that is, it apparently strains Libertarian "logic" to its breaking point.
The idea that this planet or life on it is exempt from the Second Law is absurd.
The Second Law applies ALL physical systems and biological processes. I've got about a dozen quotes stating that the Second Law applies to open and closed systems.
Evolutionists that are trying to butcher the Second Law.
A practicing Christian with Christian values. Pro-Constitution Pro-Capitalism Pro-Patriotism, the Pledge and the Flag Pro-Military Pro-Prayer in schools Pro-Republican candidates Anti-Education Unions and poor schools Anti-abortion Anti-homosexual/lesbian Anti-illicit drugs Anti-pornography Anti-Communist Anti-DemocRAT Anti-big government Anti-IRS and high taxes Anti-Liberal media Anti-Hollyweirds Anti-Klintoon and his whole administration
There have to be some more to add to this list , but it's a start.
I can assure you, the invitation was unnecessary.
Why do you feel the only way to solve domestic problems is through violence against citizens? Don't you have any other ideas besides, "Kill! Kill! Kill!"? I am a Catholic so I believe that God is the only entity that should be in charge of life and death not men trying to further their political goals.
Ironic, that libertarians want "small government," but want the government to regulate drugs. Rather, hypocritical and revealing.
I am not a libertarian nor have I said I was one. So I don't know where you came up with that. I prefer not to label myself with political groups as most of these groups are lead by egotistical jerks.
Drug dealers or no drug dealers, legalizing drugs will and has increased drug usage, including usage of harder drugs. Considering that 26-29% of all murderers were high on drugs and that up to 70% of all criminals in prison were high on drugs, legalization would be result in a dramatic increase in crime.
Most of these crimes are committed to fund the incredibly high cost of street drugs. So you are sort of arguing cause and effect. If the cost was reduced, these individuals would require less crime in order fund their habit. So far, the laws have failed to prevent the crime you are railing against.
Further, we already lose more people each year to drunk driving than to murder. Why need we need more losers using drugs, intoxicated and killing innocent people.
You want another prohibition on alcohol? Why be hypocritical with just "street drugs"? Alcohol causes more crime and violence in our nation than all the street drugs combined. Plus these "druggies" are already out there and using. Its not like you are going to start taking drugs if its legalized. Why do you think you are vastly more superior than the rest of us? That we would be so easily tempted to drop everything and live in opium dens. If drugs are legalized, I am not going to go out and become a junkie.
Frankly, I would feel safer in a room filled with stoners than a room filled with drunks. The worst thing that might happen with the stoners is that they might steal my Chocolate Chip Cookies and force me to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants. Oh wait, that isn't the stoners, thats my nieces and nephews. :)
So you don't like none of them-there Jew-fellers in yer club?
