1) I know women who support the 2nd Amendment who've actually had guns put to their heads and had been violenced upon in the worst conceivable ways. They are most courageous when it comes to appearing before councils, town hall meetings, and also the media, and they tell of those experiences. And they well understand that owning a firearm very well ensures a woman against being victimized in such a fashion a second time.

Violence does not, as we all know, require the use of a gun. Guns, however, are most often the best form of defense against violence perpetrated on us. I know, I know ... preachin' to the choir, here. I testified yesterday before the NH Senate Judiciary Committee, in opposition to yet another noxious anti-gun bill, and am still all wound up. :o)
