I went to a Hartford Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting a couple of months ago when Geno Auriemma was speaking (the next day was LIEberman, I sent my brother. Listening to LIEberman and eating do not mix). It was the unveiling of the new "Hartford. New England's Rising Star" campaign. You know, that copy of Algore's campaign sign.

Anyway, Rowland led off, followed by Mayor Mike (still hung-over no doubt, but entertaining nonetheless), then Geno (who was great). Then came Eddie's turn. Talk about anti-climactic. Stuttering, muttering, semi-intelligible. Politics aside, as if that's possible, Peters was the city's best cheerleader. Eddie has a LONG way to go just to become a credible spokesman.
