I know several of you freepers love the Family Guy like I do, so I thought I'd let you know Fox plans on canceling it after next week! The last episode had the highest ratings in the time slot for Fox, but they still don't know what to do with it or something. Please sign the petition, or send a postcard. Thanks.
SAVE FAMILY GUY PETITION
If you loved that, try Father Ted, another short-lived British classic about 3 good-for-nothing Irish priests banished to an island parish. Highly offensive and absolutely hilarious. There are lots of websites and fan clubs devoted to it, check it out!
That was the greatness of the show. Beavis and Butthead themselves were just idiots that walked cluelessly through life, thus giving PC liberals a chance to make fools of THEMSELVES!! It was great, even briliant at times.
KOTH is Mike Judge's atempt to go mainstream, IMO.
I wanted to like The Tick as I enjoyed co-creator and former Seinfeld writer Larry Charles' other journey into comics, Dilbert. But it just didn't get the job done, IMHO.
The problem with The Tick is, strangely enough, The Tick! Patrick Warburton can be funny as all get out, as he was in "The Face Painter" epi of Sein that made him a star -- but he's only as funny as a script will let him be. Of all the principal characters in The Tick, The Tick is the least interesting -- he's dense and monosyllabic, and the others are funny dealing just with him. (BTW, Tick's high-tech bobbing and rising antennae just get in the way of punch lines.)
IMHO, the show would have been better with the knock-off characters and a Tick knock-off that could have been shifted to the background.
Poor Liz Vassey, who was on another of my fave shows that no one else liked: Pig Sty, from UPN's first season.
Every time I think I am not brilliant, a response like yours makes me believe my ego.
From my comment on a thread earlier this month in which Family Guy was praised:
Did you highlight the blank space and read it? Good.

Yes, Family Guy is funny. When it first appeared on air I thought it was crude and stupid.
IMHO, you were right. You may find a profane, lecherous 2-year-old and jokes about bestiality amusing. I don't. OK, folks -- watch them accuse me of not having a sense of humor just because I don't want to stick my head into a toilet to find something to laugh about. Happens every time.

Thanks for proving me right.
If the Simpsons suck so bad, how has it become the longest running animated series in history and the longest running show currently on tv?
The Simpsons RULE!
Lisa Simpson: Grampa, didn't you wonder why you were getting checks for doing nothing?
Abe Simpson: I thought it was because the democrats are in power again.
Sideshow Bob Terwilliger: You can't keep me and my criminal buddies in jail forever. The democrats will win the White House someday.
The reason I first began watching KOTH was that I was informed that it tilted to the RIGHT, and back then I believe it really did. But for the past two seasons, I find that I would agree with you, and the leftward tilt is not always ever-so-slight either (it's very anti-Bush now, for one thing).
Who'd have ever thought Mike Judge would lamely go PC? Or maybe it's the new liberal-scumbag writers. Either way, the Judge has sold out.
DWG
what happened to FARSCAPE on Friday prime??!!
Now, one of the funniest things this season on Family Guy was "The Special Persons Games". The two T.V. reporters are the best. The Willie Wonka parody was priceless.
How about that, Good things do happen.
