Hey old friend. In answer to your question - Jim has requested no vanities, once again the AdminMod has requested no vanities. I like some of the Vanity threads very much, although praying for animals is beyond the pale and asking for personal help about a neighbour is ridiculous. As long as this kind of thing is allowed, Free Republic will become a shadow of its former self but if Jim has no problem with this, neither do I. No one is forcing me to say ( except I would miss old friends ;-) ).

All I am saying is that if Jim genuinely wants the Vanity threads to stop, the only way to stop it is to take action. He has tried the nice approach. It doesn't work.

Indeed. And those who would offer vanity posts should also cease all financial support of FR as well, since their filthy money would be insulting as well. That should cut down on the example of the duplicate FR fundraising requests that crop up repeatedly.
