"I and others can no longer continue to support him....on principle." If you do not want to support Bush, who are you going to support?
To: Major Matt Mason
Yes, and Sean Hannity scoffed at me when I said these people should be professionals. If they were law enforcement offficials, they wouldn't have to search every single one of us, but we can't allow any profiling, can we?
To: AAABEST
You exist at the very, very fringe of the political spectrum. Your ideal presidential candidate would recieve >1% of the vote.

(+) Food stamps for immigrants. Presumably this means *legal* immigrants.

If you do not want to support Bush, who are you going to support? How about "Hose" ..."Support Hose" has a nice ring to it...

It's not my purpose (at least at this point) to get GWB un-elected...<
No need Bush will do that all on his own, Like his father before him, GWB will over the course of his presidency alienate all his conservative support. He has already received every vote he will ever receive from me.
To: Ben Ficklin
Ah, but is he right?
To: Jim Robinson
Jim, one of my dreams about ten years ago was the abolishment of the DOE. Perhaps that was childish, but I had my reasons. Not only are we not doing that, but we are throwing $40 billion more at it.
I realize there's nobody out there to vote for. What are we to do? Do we allow our boys to take us the last step of the way into full on raging socialism, just because they're our boys? Now we have something that wreaks of Hillary Healthcare? What is going on here?
To: Jim Robinson
Can someone please name one-JUST ONE- program Bush has proposed to cut out of the budget?
To: Sir Gawain
What it boils down to for any true conservative, is how we roll back governmental largesse. ** giggle **
It's kind of cute to read these sentiments.
Sorry to be so cynical, but I don't think it's ever going to happen.
To: Sir Gawain
I voted for GWB. He's done some good things, done some bad things, and really has yet to promote what I would consider my conservative beliefs. All I can say is that it could be worse... (how sad is that ?)
But I dont think that its hopeless. I believe in the original system, and think we just need to cut-off a lot of the 'for the betterment of society' causes.

Idealistically or realistically?

He/she/it has my vote!

Now one would have to believe Bush is going to do everything he proposed. I for one think he is trying to out Clinton Clinton. If he gets a republican Senate, he may actually get something meaningful done. Like privitizing Social Security for one, and drilling ANWR for two. Getting tax revenues from 25% of GDP back down below 20% of GDP wouldn't hurt either. But none of that will happen with the obstructionist senate we currently have.

"oops I posted this in "breaking news" whenit was really just a vanity post, with no corresponding news article... "
...right. Who do you think you are? Britney "oops I did it again" Spears?
I must admit it takes balls to post YOUR opinion, in breaking news, as an ARTICLE... and then say oops.
By the way... THIS IS NOT BREAKING NEWS AND SHOULD BE MOVED TO OPINIONS AND VANITIES CATEGORY....
Hee hee.
