The thing is that I don't think that "backup" was bashing Bush. He just said something to the effect that he did not think the tax cut was big enough. If anything, the people responding to him were rude. I just can't believe the guy got banned for saying such "vanilla" type stuff. JMO

It probably does well in focus groups. People will say they're against "big money" in politics, but I doubt anybody is really enthusiastic about it except Democrats who want to use it as a tool for censorship.

I love it when Dick Gephardt is on television. He is just so incredibly unappealing to look at. He's like one of those guys who never physically matured, you know? You know he looks exactly like he did in eighth grade.

I fully expected him to whine right out of the gate, but President Bush headed them off at the pass on so many issues, he had to echo the SOTU on a lot of it. Suddenly they're friends of the military, all full of love and kisses. Chameleons, those Democrats. Truly sickening.

Another thing to note: oblique, veiled, but very critical, comments about Saudi Arabia.

I read in a thread earlier today that the female fighter pilot that sued to overturn the dress code restrictions placed on US female military personnel in Saudi, somehow got herself a seat at tonight's speech. Now, how would a Lieutenant Colonel get a seat at the State of the Union address, especially one with high security...unless it was a calculated dig at the Saudis? Did she ever show up on camera? I didn't see her on C-SPAN, but I only have a fuzzy recollection of what she looks like.

It is nice to have an adult at the helm rather than a lying male slut. Yes, I'm concerned about the "programs" he touted. However, best line delivered tonight was the caution to Congress to CONTROL SPENDING. If he wants military increases and the programs he spoke to, he's going to have to get them to cut off other things like the NEA, CPB/PBS, Office of Surgeon General, etc.
