Most Americans have their own family experience with someone getting in trouble or screwing up big time. It might even help Jeb in some fashion. People can sympathize with him and know that he has problems in his family just like they do in theirs.

Precisely. This is also why the WOD will never succeed.

Dont' you believe in innocent until proven guilty?

Of course. And if I was sitting on a jury I would reserve judgment until I heard all the facts.

But I am not sitting on a jury. I am a free American citizen able to make judgments and express opinions at any moment of my choosing. And since I already know that Jeb Bush has acknowledged that his daughter was arrested, and since the police have announced that she was caught with an illegal, bogus prescription which she passed to a druggist, you'll have to forgive me if I form an opinion without adopting the evasive spin lingo the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Oh well, Jebby, don't provide a lawyer- let her deal with it on her own and let the chips fall where they may.

There's gonna be hell to pay when her grandmother gets hold of her. She'd probably be better of taking her lumps in jail.

Oh please! What exactly is granny going to do to a woman in her mid 20's???

If you've got some proof to support such an outrageous allegation

I smell DU disrupters. They stink to high heaven.
Let the law handle this. Grow up!

Wasn't the younger son of Jeb arrested last year for getting a hummer from his girlfriend in a parking lot, or somesuch? I've always thought "Bush" is an unfortunate name to have if you're going to be caught up in a sex scandal.

Shrub?

Too bad.

I use the term liberally.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Shrub isn't an endearing term for President Bush and if you don't understand that, you're either braindead or a liberal disruptor. take your choice.

You are, of course, free to call him what you want. But considering the people who use the term, "Shrub," (doesn't the Doonesbury idiot do so?), I think you will find that your intentions here will almost always be misinterpreted. I think most people here consider the term an insult. You may not, but that's probably how it will be perceived.

"Not good news, however the Democrats have paved mile and miles of road behind us"

That reminds me of a story a Hawaiian FReeper told me.

He was returning to his car in the Walmart parking lot and saw a BMW parked in front of his car with a bumper sticker that read: THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH REPUBLICANS. As he was reading, a very well dressed woman comes to the car and he remarked to her that her bumper sticker was interesting. She says to him. "don't you just love it?" He says, "not really; I'm a republican." Then he says to her, "I have a question. If the road to hell is paved with Republicans does that mean that hell is inhabited by Democrats?" He said she got a really strange look on her face and was speechless and he laughed all the way home.

Anyway, didn't mean to wander off topic, but I love that story. It's a good example of the way they think...or perhaps I should say don't think.

Honey after what you just posted you wouldn't even make it during the jury selection phase. Besides in most cases its a misdemeanor and won't even go before a jury. Most misdemeanors go before a judge only. She's just been arrested at this point, so it may not even get to a court.

My grown daughter has made wrong choices, too. Once a kid is all grown up, though, are we still responsible for their choices? I think not. God bless the Bush family. For victory & freedom!!!

Mrs.McInsane got away with it. Doesn't seem like much to get upset over if you got the right pull.

Likely she will cop a plea in a drug court and have court monitored re-hab and counseling. This is pretty standard for first time offenders who are charged with possession. She can only be charged with fraud and attempting to obtain and controlled substance, which doesn't even reach the level of possession. No jail time, counseling, and that is not special treatment considering the situation.

By the way - When al gore's son got into all that trouble for drunk driving (or whatever it was), the media hushed it up. Remember? Why all this attention to the Bush kids?
