USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Oh, Young Lady you have saved my day with your fresh coffee. Thank you, thank you, I love you, I love you, thank you, thank you. It tastes sooooooo gooooood! You just name it and I'll do it for you. Coffee is what makes the world go 'round in the mornings.

I saw Black Hawk Down the first weekend it opened here. I thought it was a very good movie. I'll buy it when it comes out on tape.

What preciousness!

Before I saw who posted it there was a second, though, when I thought something drastic had happened to Beamer when he was bathed. LOL!

Gorgeous graphics again! T Man has that last one I think, too. Don't know who "Jami" is but I like her style!

I sure would have had a hard time saluting him if X42 was my CiC.

Did I accidentally spill something in that coffee this morning? :^) Or was that your first cup of the day!

I love that screaming eagle.

I'm not going to see Black Hawk Down - just something I don't want to do to myself since I have a son in the service now.

Yup, you got it. How did you know that it was my first cup. Was it that obvious. I didn't do anything foolish did I?

I don't like to cry at the movies, and I always do with films like this; at home it's different. I just grab several kleenex and sit there and let the tears come.

Temps in my area today are to be between 70-75 degrees. We had 11 inches of snow earlier this month and now "spring peepers" are hollarin' and flowers are confused.

Thanks, Billie. I like her style, too. :-)

The first graphic was the picture alone, I added the words and thought it went well as a set with the second graphic.

Playng around with these things is almost as addictive as FR! *LOL*

Gotta scoot! You have a great day.

He's a handsome young man. Prayers are with him, as well as all others who are serving. I can't blame you at all for passing on BHD, Mrs. HiJinx refused to watch it, too...and neither of our boys is in any danger of being there.

For what it's worth, she recommends The Count of Monte Cristo as a must see. Something about "He cleans up real well after 16 years in prison." I don't get it. What does she mean? Can somebody help me out, here?

Valerie, had you sent me that picture before? I can't remember now, but he looks familiar. I'll save it and use it if I didn't put him in a collage earlier!

Mornin' Billie. Glad to see you back. Hope your server gets things straightened out soon. Got all the graphics to load on the second log-on except for #3.

Looking forward to the State of the Union speech tonight. It might call for a champagne toast when the President finishes. Also wonder if "old Crusty's" handlers have taught her to ACT a bit more gracious for the cameras.

I'll be in and out as the day progresses.

Yes, you're right - and it does make a good "pair" of graphics together.

Tell your son thank you from all of us for serving our great country. God Bless you and all the families at home while their sons and daughters serve.

Hi, Dave - I'm glad yours opened a little better for you - I'm STILL today having to force mine to open when I post them by right-clicking and "show picture" about 3 times each graphic I've posted this morning. It's funny, because Bunny told me she has no problems opening them (she's on Earthlink and uses IE browser), and her phone line will only connect at a top speed of 26,400 (like mine - residential phone lines aren't the best for internet connections.):^)
