We just had a 1.9 at 10:45. And yes, we felt it. They sure at a lot more fun when you are at the epicenter!
I had a friend once run out in the street in a towel after an earthquake thinking it was a major event. It turned out to be a 2.3, but his house was the epicenter and the quake was shallow.
Better safe than sorry... If you think it's a big one you should run outside even if your neighbors might laugh at you and ridicule you for being a drama queen.
