I think that would be cool, but he's been in the news complaining that he didn't want to carry the torch out in the desert someplace, he wanted to carry it into the Olympics stadium. If he as the guy to light the torch, I don't think he would have made such a big stink. I look for a Stockton to Malone handoff though...

Bush-The head of the host country is usually not the torch bearer. The head of state is at the center of the grandstand for greeting each country's contingent as they march past for an honorary dipping of their flag. Of course the US usually doesn't lower its flag.
