Try the same shot with the cat's face huge, as if it is looking into the camera off to one side, tilted with curiosity. I saw a picture like that with a small boy peering into the lens, it was funny as hell.

That's a cute idea! This is the best that I could do without covering up too much. Now it's up to Tonkin which one he wants to use in the future.
