Who is Robert Smigel anyway?

A very funny guy -- really. Among other things he's the voice behind Triumph, the Insult-Comic Dog, a repeating character on the Conan O'Brien show. Outrageously funny.

Being someone who likes Conan's persona, surprisingly (perhaps) I've not heard of this obscure character.

I do not believe Smigel had as much to do with this one, given the additional credit screen with two new names, and the cartoon style being significantly different. Perhaps animators on loan from NARAL.

Triumph is a great character. A really great character for me to poop on.

I think Smigel also did the voice of Clinton on O'Brien's show. Very funny parodies that totally destroyed Clinton. Though if you want to look at things the other way, he helped lower expectations and accustom people to Clinton's depravities. There's no way to come out a winner there.

Basically for Smigel, like the creators of South Park, nothing is sacred and everything is liable to be mocked. Christianity provides a big, easy target, though Clinton, gays and others are also in their sights.
