Outrage--SNL Insults Christians, Pro-Lifers
Montag

Did anyone see the disturbing (and quite unfunny) "TV Funhouse" segment on SNL this evening?

They were attempting (one supposes) to insult Pat Robertson, but succeeded only in ridiculing Christians and those who value life and the unborn.

They portrayed a fictional Robertson-sponsored cartoon, in which "embyonic cell" and "Ted Trimester" (1st-trimester fetus) characters were placed in a work environment, as if they were high-powered workers. The characters were unintelligable, yet the other adult characters responded as if those two were geniuses. Also interspersed were a "Mr Parkinson" man seeking to kill the fetuses for their stem cells, who, upon being shown Jesus' image by the the "cell" character, ripped up a homosexual porno magazine (the "Robertson" scharacter asserts that if someone has a disease like Parkinsons it must be because Jesus is punishing them for being gay) and gives up his gun.

The message was clear: it is absurd to suppose that life begins at conception, because it is absurd to suppose that fetuses could function in the workplace. Also the piece asserts that one would have to be an extremist, homophobic Christian to value the unborn or have a problem with harvesting fetuses for stem cells.

Christianity is mocked and absurdly portrayed throughout the piece, which received very few laughs from the audience (do they really expect it to be funny?)

My wife and I were shocked by this, and the more we thought about it, the more disturbed we became.

A couple of weeks ago they had a cartoon (The X-Presidents) that made fun of Clinton and Carter, but made Reagan look really good

I love the X-Presidents--SNL doesn't do enough of them. Reagan is always the mastermind, and IIRC the one I saw with Clinton showed him as a buffoon. The last time I saw it was back when Clinton was President. Was this a new one?

He's no longer pro-life when it comes to aborting babies in China, apparently. Or, at least that would be the logical conclusion one would take by reading his comments from last year on the matter.

He says China can abort babies because they are in a desparate situation. Presumably everyone who gets an abortion is in a desparate situation. Hence, how could he be against any abortion?

Ohmigod! I still have that on tape somewhere! I loved the part where he groused about having to do photo ops with a Girl Scout, saying "This is the part of the job I really hate!"

LOL... "BACK TO WORK!" My favorite line has to be either cutting "a very lucrative deal with the Iraqis," figuring out hour-by-hour interest on Swiss bank acount, or "Jimmy... Don't make me have to kill you."

By the way, it drives liberals berserk that conservatives actually think that's funny. It leaves me in stitches, every time.

One sketch that I've only seen twice - and that had me literally holding my stomach with laughter - was "Campaign '92: The Race to Avoid Being the Guy Who Loses to Bush" back in 1991, before any of us had ever heard of Bill Clinton.

It had Bill Bradley (Kevin Nealon), Dick Gephardt (an eyebrowless Dana Carvey), Lloyd Bentsen (Kiefer Sutherland), Mario Cuomo (Phil Hartman), and standing in for Al (who couldn't be there because he'd taken the kids to a gay porn theater), Tipper Gore (Victoria Jackson).

It was a five-minute exercise in why each of them wasn't fit to be our President. They each had a great excuse.

Best line had to be Tipper's: "I'm a mother of three children, and, like any mother, I want the best possible future for my kids. When I think of a future with my husband as President, frankly, I'm scared."

Transcript here, if you'd like to check it out.

Judge the source. A New York network which promotes a mediocre show based primarily on low-brow vulgar, scatological, and pubescent genital humor. They need to get that Chris Kattan guy or whatever his name is, the one who frequently plays a gay monkey or whatever that "Mr. Peepers" [?] is supposed to be, and Jimmy Fallon some stronger shampoo, by the way. It's hard to tell whether their hair is naturally that oily, they're so over-worked they don't have time to shower before the show, or they're both suffering from liver damage from hepatitis or HIV. But, I mean, jokes ridiculing human embryos? What level of depravity are we dealing with here? It tells you something about how out of touch from reality the writers, directors, producers, editors, and PR people are.

Hell I'm the one who laughs loudest about "strategery" around here... Kinda takes the wind outta my liberal buddies' sails when I'm the one telling about Will Farrell and Daryl Hammond on SNL last weekend... That one where Cheney (Hammond) is addressing the nation from the Oval Office and his pacemaker starts flipping out and he is informed that he's been legally dead for the past several minutes... I almost hawked up a lung laughing so hard...

Yeah I know last night's episode with Britney "Jailbait" Spears was lamer than Al Gore as a presidential candidate, but did anybody see Tina Fey's Weekend Update report about Ashcroft and what he'd rather have as a backdrop instead of a nekked female? BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Oh, me too! I haven't watched that tape in a long time, but it never fails to make me laugh hard.

I'll repeat for the record here, anyone who hasn't seen it for a long time, simply MUST watch the Alamo sequence from Pee Wee's Big Adventure again, to see what kind of genius Jan Hooks possesses. As a lifelong Texan myself, it's very obvious that Paul Reubens (and Ms. Hooks) has spent a lot of time in Texas. "My name... is Tee-na... Do we have any Mexican-Americans with us today? Well Buenos Dias!" The first time I saw that was in a theatre in a tiny Texas town, and the whole audience was just crying from laughter.

The pull ridiculous stunts like this, then scratch their heads and wonder how Rush and FNC managed to come out on top..

Then, they rationalize it by telling themselves that everyone else is stupid.

The Marxists are going to jump the shark with all this like they did before. They are a small minority in this country in their love of baby killing.
