Actually, I'd prefer it if he spent his days in a 80 x 1 sq.ft. cell.

Out of sensitivity for his religion, are they going to allow the vile SOB to hide behind a rag when he gets to the courtroom?

Re: Passport (30 years ago):

"LOSS OF NATIONALITY: You may lose your United States nationality by being naturalized in, or by taking an oath or by making a declaration of allegiance to, a foreign state; or by serving in the armed forces or by accepting employment under the government of a foreign state. For detailed information, consult the nearest American consular office."

The next paragraph, while probably not pertinent in this case, looks like it would allow for combat duty in another nation's military if the person claims dual nationality. Another bag of worms.

"WARNING TO DUAL NATIONALS: A person is considered a dual national when he owes allegiance to more than one country at the same time. A claim to allegiance may be based on facts of birth, marriage, parentage, or naturalization. A dual national may, while in the jurisdiction of the other country which considers him its national, be subject to all of its laws, including military service. If difficulties occur, consult the nearest American consular office."

Just this morning I was listening to dear unbiased Ann Compton gushing on WMAL radio about how nice little Johnny looked with his beard shaved off and his hair cut. Nothing at all like that ferocious wolfman on the cover of Newsweek, apparently; according to Ann, he was all fattened up and rosy-cheeked and attractive. Then I checked some photos so I could see for myself. Sheesh, this creature is still frightening, dangerous, and weird-looking. Before he was a wolfman; now he's just a clean wolfman.

In the unlikely event that this piece of crap somehow managed to go free, I doubt he'd live very long.

Most parents would be "unbelievably crushed and, you know, worried and sick, everything that every parent feels when their children have a problem like he has.." - but Walker-Lindh's parents are not like most parents... and whatever futile attempt they make now to "do the right thing" for their son is a little too late, dontcha think?

I have a Passport issued in Feb 99, and there is NOTHING in it about LOSS OF NATIONALITY or Dual Citizenship. NOTHING.

OOOPS - I couldn't believe my passport didn't have anything, and sure enough 2 pages were stuck together, so there IS something there on Citizenship.

The Passport of today (1999) DOES still contain citizenship rules.....a little differently written. See my post 52.

Well, they pretty much have him dead to rights on the Taliban thing. On the "joined the terrorist al-Qaida network" that is still alleged, so of course the media wouldn't want to repeat allegations...and Enron will miss Ken Lay....right!
