Well, as amazing as it might seem when one contemplates the prospect of a "mother-only" right to homicide as some "human right" ... I think there are those who've bought into the lie that it's better to be dead than unwanted or that Gaia/Mother Earth was some kind of misogynist whose shoddy workmanship on the female body we must fix by affording women the right to be unpregnant at will.
So, because "ignorance is invincible" in some respects, it would be unfair to excommunicate those the Church has failed in the right formation of their consciences to withstand such lies and garbage thought.
It's those who actively procure, assist to procure or promote abortion of whom I speak as "culpable" for their actions. Just being shortsighted doesn't do it.
I believe the politicans know what they are doing. They know it conflicts with the religious teachings of their church, yet they fund abortion and pass other laws supporting it. If I were the shotcaller in the vatican or the cardinal of NY etc, They'd be gone.
