Sorry, my haiku was supposed to read like this --

The Turtle in the snow

It flows in his nose

Will blow -- SNORT!

I believe it all stems from an infamous incident in July of 1997, when a Canadian FReeper's sister (I forget which FReeper it was, someone may be able to help me out here) was at Lake Diefenbaker, having a wine and cheese party right by the lake with several of her friends. They were attacked by a wayward moose who bit the sister (I believe) and trampled in the cheese.

Where the tin foil hats came in, I'm not quite sure. I think those were a separate incident.

I know! I'm in the same boat! When that airliner went down in Queens, someone made a comment about a moose biting it. I still have NO idea what the heck they meant! There does seem to be some link between moose and cheese, though. I just haven't found it.

I hope you realize that as the original poster, YOU have to knaw the cheese, AND clean up after the moose.

It's definitely, BYOTFH, though. ;^)

Since I had to ask this myself once...

The cheese and Moose thing, came from a Monty Python script that was on the web. In the comments on the script, written by the editor of the script or something, are comments that are meant to be funny, and the further you go down the script, the funnier and absurd the comments are.

Among them are comments about moose, and then the comment, "A Moose Bit my sister Once".

Comments about Cheese were on this, too. It all became an inside joke to those who saw the original thread, and then it confused so many people, it became funny in and of itself just to see the comments without any knowlege off the script connection.

Seriously, tinfoil hat originated from a movie in which that funny British actor wazzisname played a psychiatrist. In the movie he had a patient, Mr. Zukerman who followed him around who wore foil under his hat so space aliens couldn't steal his brain. The character was so halarious that tinfoil hat has become a widely used term in American slang. It means nuts and deluxional.

Here we go:

Ingredients: Tin Foil Moose and Cheese Stew

6 ounces moose, trimmed and cut into 1 inch cubes

1 potato, cubed

2 carrots, sliced

1 cheese block, chopped

1 clove crushed garlic

1 pinch salt

1 pinch ground black pepper

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon water

Directions

1 On a large square sheet of foil, layer beef, potato cubes, carrots, onion and garlic. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, top with butter and a tablespoon of water.

2 Roll edges of tin foil together and seal tightly.

3 Bury it in campfire coals or put in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). For either cooking method, cooking time is about 1 hour. You can eat it right out of the foil, or empty it into a dish.

Makes 1 serving

From what I have read....alot of the FReeper Lexicon is pasty white corny. Some of it is good but not overwhelmingly witty. :o)

Cheese trivia...Chico Calif consumes more Velvetta per capita than any where else in the world. re:Herb Cain cica 20th century. In 6.5 seconds someone will post that Velvetta is not real cheese.
