This man is too honest to stay a Democrat forever.

Miller is a man of uncommon common sense. Nice to see that he was also a former marine! He's a great American.

He's too honest to stay in the Senate for very long!

If (when?) he stays a Democrat, will you re-evaluate the first part of this statement?

He talks a good game, but the fact is that it is a short walk across the aisle, and Tom Daschle has control of the Senate because Zell enables him to have control of the Senate, and its legislative process.

Mr. Miller is explicit in his criticism of Tom Daschle, which is interesting and highly unusual.

Zell Miller is nowhere near as naive a senator as he puts himself up to be. The Majority Leader is much too powerful for any reasonable senator to go off insulting him at will.

Of course, Daschle and company are making a true botch of things -- their spin isn't working, and they're showing themselves to be rancid little politics-first obstructionists.

I'm betting that Miller senses this, and is positioning himself for a post-Daschle leadership position.
