Let's face it, if you're poor and without much means for support other than minimum wage employment, what politicians are you going to support?? The one who's talking about capital gains tax cuts or welfare handouts?
Besides, for me anyway it's about illegal immigration. They shouldn't be getting anything from the government but a one-way ticket back home. But while they can't seem to do much to make their own countries better, the illegals are smart enough to know cross the border, have a baby, and there you go - Uncle Sam is just a block away, fill out a few forms and the taxpayer accommodates.
They're going to try to shove a guest worker program down our throats whether we want it or not. Recession? Who said there's unemployment. If they do, they're going to have to do something with the Fourteenth Amendment and not grant automatic citizenship to children of illegals. Otherwise, they won't be "guests", but just another backdoor immigration program.
The interest groups and politicians pushing these suicidal policies are shameless and could care less about America or her children. Only about themselves and their bottom lines. We need more Pat Buchanans to expose these people and stop them in their tracks. The US has a right to its sovereignty like everyone else. We shouldn't be made to feel guilty about it.
