My last reply was meant for Reaganwuzthebest. As for sinkspur's comments, I don't always agree with Pat Buchanan, but he is a brilliant man and it is really interesting to listen to what he has to say.

I have seen Pat on several times this past week, promoting his book.

I felt embarassed for him. He truly looked like The Ugly American.

He never has anything hopeful to say. Everything is gloom and doom and more gloom.

No wonder he never got much support.

I don't doubt that there is a movement to extend Mexican influence into the US. The evidence is overwhelming.

What I don't think is supported is the idea that Mexico, and Vicente Fox, are engaged in an effort to expand Mexican territory into the United States or that President Bush approves of the idea.

Some radical Mexicans do actively promote that idea. But they're radicals, and we have some kooks of our own. That will never happen.

We do face some serious questions about what happens as Mexicans continue to come across the border into America. It does threaten our culture and it does threaten our economy, especially when it comes to health care. The current situation of tacitly agreeing to illegal immigration is nuts.

But there's no danger of Mexico annexing part of America. If anything, they want to be a part of it.

Sink, that is always said about prophets. They tell you what you don't want to hear. Those that have ears to hear, let them hear. ABOVE ALL THINGS, TRUTH BEARETH AWAY THE VICTORY.

All I am trying to say is there are some very real horrific demographic trends that are entrneched, and Bush and the Republicans are not doing anything to stem the socialist tide.

And what's Pat's simplistic solution? Pat wants white people to have more kids.

I had two, Bush has two, most Republicans I know have kids.

Pat has none.

So Rand confirms that it's not black and white (excuse the pun) as Pat contends.

There are more muti-racial people. Whites marry Asians, whites marry Hispanics, blacks marry Hispanics, Asians marry blacks...

And these mutiracial people are part of American culture. Not "white" culture. AMerican culture.

(Indeed, the 2000 Census for the first time enabled anyone to do so through a newly inaugurated “check-all-that-apply” response to identify one’s self racially.) Even in the mid-1990s, an estimated 20 percent of Americans counted someone of a different racial group among their kin.

One the one hand, racists like Pat argue Hispanics don't "assimilate."

And then when they do (primarily by marrying anglos), racists like Pat print books claiming the white race is disappearing.

What a load of crap.

Whatever. It's not about RACE, it's about CULTURE, and IDEALS. It wouldn't be so bleak an outlook if Americans were still proud to be American; if American history were still taught in our schools; if we were not completely secularized; if Americans who've been here for generations weren't divided up and HYPHENATED--so, yes, Buchanan is right and this is an alarm bell going off! But the ones who are destroying this country and FUNDING its destruction are rich, liberal WHITES who hate their own country, their own race, and don't believe in morality. They teach people of color to hate white people, yet these white libs live in gated communities and don't receive the brunt of the hatred they feed, created by their own hatred. SO TAKE THAT!
