I find it peculiar that many who identify themselves as Christian, excuse much of their obnoxious and boorish behavior by stating that they're "doing what their Lord tells them to do", but they seem to conveniently forget that their Lord commands humility, forgiveness, compassion, peace, and love for their fellow man.
I will grant that Christians can be quite as obnixious and boorish as libertarians. People can be that way.
However, evangelism is not "forgetting" these things, OWK, it's implementing them.
No, not their fellow man, but their Christian brothers and sisters. Unless of course you are talking about the only two instances in the entire Bible where God says:
Mt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Lu 6:27 ¶ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
And on those two instances, you must go back and read the context of what the Lord was saying and how He was using those sentences.
For in that context, I do love you and I do pray for you, but I also recognize that you are not my brother and that you would turn on me in a minute, but, as Paul tells us, it is bettter to be with the Lord.
OWK - I've read many similar posts from you on other threads. What always amazes me are the responses. They either ignore you, change the subject, or challenge your knowledge of the Bible. I guess it's true, the truth hurts!
