(Really, it's getting where you can't even say what you're really THINKING around here...)
Before I say my peace, let me explain my own beliefs on the subject. I'm a 25 year old female and a conservative (dont ask how or why- I don't know). As a girl, I feel like most women do about gays: I don't hold very strong opinions on the subject. I tend to think that they are abnormal, but that they're entitled to equality. I don't believe in gay marriage or adoption, but other than that I would not have a problem being friends or acquaintances with them (it's none of my buisness).
However, I do understand that many people hold strong feelings about the topic (usually due to religion or upbringing). Even though I consider myself religious, it has still never concerned me very much. Alot of politically correct and liberal people attempt to make opposition to gays out to be the equivalent of racism and other types of 'discrimination'- but it isn't, period. I accept the fact that many folks just have deeply held religious views.
The ones that really bother me are people like you. You seem to insuate that you are more tolerant or open-minded because you refuse to pass judgement. The problem is that you don't allow anyone else to disagree with your views so much as a little, at least on this subject, without jumping down their throat. If you believe in being so all-fire broad minded, perhaps you ought to be tolerant enough to allow others the chance to object to your conclusions about life without ignorantly condemning them for their blind intolerance!
Just a thought,
Shannon
