Oh that's right you think pot is a wonderweed and your short term memory is shot. Never mind.

Just imagine how better the world would be if no one used illegal drugs......Now....imagine how the world would be if everyone were users.....
Which scenario would YOU choose??

First, let me say that I am new here and I am a libertarian. I do not believe that the government should legislate what a person ingests. I do realize that many people on this board do not agree with my point of view.
I would like to see some serious discussion of points in this article. The subject deserves debate. I have borderline glaucoma and fail to understand why marijuana may not be used for medical purposes.
Another point: These statistics are eye-opening.
"2001 in Drug Statistics - Estimated U.S. deaths in year 2001 attributed to tobacco: 400,000; alcohol: 110,000; prescription drugs: 100,000; suicide: 30,000; murder: 15,000; aspirin and related painkillers: 7600; marijuana: 0? (unknown) "
What do others think about this?

Is there a melody to accompany the lyrics of the 'libertine lament?'

Ignoring the Fourth Amendment has become so engrained in our culture that I'm not sure even complete drug legalization would reverse it. Privacy is not considered a right. We never learn from prohibition mistakes.
