While I never voted for him, I have admired Keyes for a long time. He seems perfectly suited for a "talk" show because the man does know how to talk.

However, it perplexes me that he has become a source of conservative division. It seems to me that he is pretty conservative on most of the economic and social issues, so what is all the fuss about?

Is it really just that he is at times tangentially critical of policymakers like GWB who temper their conservativism with reality? Who cares? Bush can handle that.

I look forward to seeing what Keyes does with his own show. Who knows, maybe I'll quit watching after the first couple of shows, but I'm going to give him a chance!

I believe after 470 posts, you have captured the true essence of what is going on!

And I'll take your advice -- and I hope the rest of the Bush harpies will, too -- who cares!

It is the way he criticizes Bush that bothers me. He is not unlike John McCain in that regard; he clearly has no respect for President Bush, and he is quite graceless about it in my opinion. It's not the subtance of his criticism as much as it is the lack of graciousness - and that he appears to see himself as morally and intellectually superior to the President. I find his attitude pompous and off-putting, to say the least. Give me President Bush. He's a normal person.
