Could you do so, citing which losses came after WWI, and which after WWII.
I think this should be self-evident. But certainly we have the amount of private wealth the fedgov now consumes as proof of expansion. The more it takes, the less I have necessarily. Since this is done by coercion this is a loss of liberty. But as we assumed a center role in world politics as a military power we lost several rights. Especially 2nd Amendment rights, and a preemptive right to our income (payroll taxes). The government used WWII to establish that it had the right to limit our purchase of any product by employing rationing. Both wars the government used a draft thus violating the 13th Amendment and enslaving freemen. The 2nd World War resulted in a huge military expansion, and expansion of fedgov involvement in education, health, and many other areas of our private lives.

I've already proven you are a liar.
I'll have mercy on your soul. Every few weeks you act up and get big on me and I think as a duty to my fellow freeps I need to put you back in your place - under a rock in John McCain's cave.

That surprised me too. The intercept came from Homestead AFB and got there after the plane hit the building.
Wonder why MacDill has no intercept cover. It is the main Command Post.
The Coast Guard that was tracking was already in the air when the flight school informed everyone of the theft.

So now its your contention that AZ is a swing state because they elected a Republican US Senator?
I think you ought to concentrate on getting Republicans elected to Senate in VA.

That's a really chilling thought, Travis, and I have been hoping it wouldn't happen. The coordinated terror networks have been broken up, thanks to fast action after 9/11. But the individual Islamist nutjobs are still out there in out country, and if I recall correctly, one of bin Laden's most recent ululations at the Islamic moon (TV) called for all individual Muslims to undertake the "jihad" against the Great Satan.
Granted, nobody knows if this kid is a Muslim or not, but he was obviously a sympathizer, and we have to hope this is not just the beginning of the sort of attacks that the Israelis have had to endure for many years. I wonder what the FBI will find on his computer.

That is what is so bizzare. I mean, its WELL known that is where the war is being run from. Had this kid dropped his plane into a building there do you realize the demoralizing effect that would have had on the whole miltary effort? Think about that.

The thing that gets me is that 30 minutes after it happened the FBI said "nothing to see here..bla bla bla" despite the note supporting bin laden. That's the most disturbing aspect of this story. What will we find out tomorrow? That he was befriended by a member of al qaeda?
Same with the recent AA's crash in NY. The whole scene was obscured by thick black smoke and gov types are reassuring us that the crash was not terrorist related.
ATTENTION gov types if you lurk here. It's better to say nothing than open your fat traps and reveal what idiots you really are.

there should of been a fireball, and resulting fire, an absolute near impossibility, in a nearly fully loaded Cessna when the wings come off... I agree. This is a totally confusing sentence, and very poor writing. Thus I would ignore this person's work.
Reality generally is a good guideline. The wings reportedly did come off and fell into the street. There was not a huge fire at point of impact. The firemen reportedly foamed the aviation gas which was all over the place. So, if he meant it was nearly impossible for the plane not to have caused a fireball, then maybe it was a miracle. President Bush had just asked for prayers for a spiritual sheild over the country.
Guess I'll start praying more. Looks like it works.

Additionally we have the note saying that he was acting alone, which is the same diversionary story that Richard Reid gave.
Then we have the glorious spectacle of the NTSB officials giving us the utmost assurances that there is "no evidence" that this was other than an isolated act. It is getting to be a sick joke that government officials insist there is no terrorism every time there is an terrorist incident.
Don't believe anything until it has been officially denied.

I don't know if I've run into anyone on Free Republic who's quite as ANGRY as you. What's the deal, are you OK?
In 1996, Clinton beat Dole + Perot combined across the nation by a slim margin. But in Arizona, Dole + Perot beat Clinton handily in 1996.
Perot got about 22% of the Arizona vote in 1992 and only 7% in 1996.
This points to more complex motivations than you're willing to attribute. I would say it even suggests that Arizona has been looking for an alternative to the two-party system or for better candidates.
But the real dagger in the heart of your theory is to ask you: do you believe that Massachusetts is a conservative state? After all, they voted for Reagan over Mondale-Ferraro...
Methinks it is about the candidate, not the ideology in both cases. Dole was a lousy candidate, unfortunately, even though he's a great guy and probably would have made a great president.

Please humor me, exactly what is the government gaining by keeping these terrorist attacks secret from everyone?
I think this kid and his actions had nothing to do with Bin Laden, personally. This kid was a hopeless, but not harmless, twerp.

Lots of things are going to have to be reconsidered since this incident.
MacDill is heavily guarded at the gate - but now think about in the sky!!
Any solo Taliban wannabe can use anything to cause major destruction...trucks, planes or whatever!
Heaven knows how we can identify who they are - ahead of time - so that this does not happen!
It's a really scary proposition that faces us now.

The only thing I was "pooh-poohing" was the hysteria leading some people to make all kinds of extreme speculations, when we knew next to nothing about the case. In fact, Mindbender's thinking, as I recall it, was that it was the owner of the flight school that was behind the attack, in what I guess was some sort of conspiracy. Don't see how that has been vindicated at all.

A picture of the kid has appeared on PMSNBC. Still no mention of a father.

Abilene, Texas is over 100,000 in pop. & is CONSERVATIVE. So it can't be only in Utah as you suggested. Give the rest of us out here some credit...

Please humor me, exactly what is the government gaining by keeping these terrorist attacks secret from everyone? You totally misunderstood my response. I am NOT advocating shielding us from detailsof real terrorist attacks or perceived ones. But, spokesmen for the government prematurely leap into making blanket denials of links to terrorism virtually minutes after an event. Remember Tommy Thompson's ridiculous statement about the first anthrax victim drinking out of a stream? He looked foolish.
I don't think this kid is a mini-terrorist but I also would not put out a blanket assertion until I had all my ducks in a row.

Surprise, surprise! I wish the Bush Administration would stop LYING to us. The minute anything breaks, it's the same tired line....not related to 911! I expected more of them. If I wanted to be lied to I'd support the Democrats and watch CNN!
