There was a commercial crabbing boat, that overturned off of the Coast of Southern Oregon in December,
on the 1st day of crabbing season and all 4 crew were lost.
God Rest Their Souls

I wrote this poem many years ago for my Uncle and Aunt when my cousin was lost at sea while crab fishing out of Crescent City Calif. (March 1970)
DOWN TO THE SEA
Down to the sea in ships they go
these chosen men of steel
Though mist and foam and northwest wind
is pounding at the keel
Still defiant for they know
whatever the future brings
Their place is made somewhere divine
within the realm of kings
So sail they must each crispy morn
away from trees and sod
The sea may own their windburned flesh
but their souls belong to God.
