Thanks for posting. But the person who wrote the article is ignorant when they write:

When a stealth bomber was suspected to be flying through their area they saturated the sky with missile and heavy machine-gun fire and managed to shoot one down.

Really? When was a B-2 shot down?

Didn't the Serbs shoot down some kind of American Stealth fighter? Don't think it was a B-2 though.

Well, they were going to take pictures of the shot down B-2, but it's so stealthy, they couldn't find the wreckage...

Good point... a b-1 was accidentally hit because of advance warning by phone, I think... not a b-2. Simple solution, first send in the cruise type missiles on suspected radar active and passive, then send in the drones. take out all radar... active and passive. Send in the B-2's to make sure they are gone... then send in the f-whatevers and b52 to carpet bomb... for about six weeks... then, on the first new moon, send in the special forces to breach any remaining command and control facilities and mosques..

Then simultaneously to the bombing campaign... dump MILLIONS of dollars into training the insurgents to the north and south... and put out a reward for the leadership.. dead or alive... apply the tourniquet to their supply lines.. and invade at about 8 weeks. This time use tactical nukes on all resistance... to make sure that the killers watching from the other nations get the message.

The USA is terrible and merciless in warfare... and great, kind and boundless in mercy on those who seek peace and freedom. Apply the proceedure consistantly for 50 years and birth a pax americana, for the next millenium. God will thank us for it. So will our fellow man.

bye bye sadaam. time to meet Jesus.

Really? When was a B-2 shot down?

During Bill Clinton's Serbian genocide program. The wreckage was shipped to Russia. Like alot of folks, I assumed it was a gift from him to his friends.

The radar they are talking about is Doppler radar. Old style radar worked by "bouncing" electromagnetic waves off of conductors(like an airplanes metal hull).

Doppler radar detects the difference in velocity of media. It does not require that a target be a good conductor in order that the target be detected.

You can't get more stealthy than thin air, and doppler weather radar is used all the time to map wind patterns and storm fronts by detecting the differences in the velocities of air masses.

I doubt I will sink any ships with that one, but we all should to know that most USAF stealth technology has been not-so-stealthy for quite a while.

Hmmmm, let's see here. How many B-2's have been shot down anywhere, let alone over Iraq? I think the number is somewhere around diddley doodah. Good point.

Also, I can't imagine anyone who works in the Pentagon telling any reporter that they're "very worried" about any radar system Iraq may have. In the case of a war, the bombers will fly, defensive radar threat or none.
