By the way, since 9/11, once airliners were allowed back inside the Beltway, they ALWAYS have every available light bulb turned on. I've been thinking they are probably now required to do that.

Also, the CAPs usually fly at MUCH higher altitude, and at MUCH higher speed.

Height = energy = good, for aircraft in general, and ESPECIALLY for fighters. And I second the observation that they would normally be at higher altitude, and the reason why is in my equation above.

Someone was getting checked out. Hope it was just a squirrelly radio or something like that.

Thats correct,usually 50,000 ft,Im told.
