No worries...Bush will address ALL of this in the State of the Union address. More people will be watching that speech.

Well, that is one I didn't hear. But the rest were all in there!

BTW, neither Fox nor MSNBC has even MENTIONED this "speech" so far, although MSNBC indicated earlier today they were going to show it!

Now I see CNN running the bottom banner "Recession Began Last March Ending 10 Years of Growth". What pukes!

Tom Thumb Daschle was trying to appear SO presidential. He even had his hair blown-dry a half-inch. All pancaked up, looking like a corpse. His weasly face and shifty eyes gave me the shivers. It was refreshing to see Cong. Watts visage after CNN cut Daschle off at the pass.

What a moron. Too complicated little Tom! Dump the friggin tax code, go to a flat sales tax, abolish the IRS!

This fool has never run a business, never made a payroll and does not have to worry about where the income he spends comes from. He has no respect for money!

Other than the security issues he is talking about the rest of the garbage is not the job of the federal gov't. The feds. don't need to be "investing in education".

Daschle has just thrown down on Bush. Daschle is running for president.

Well, good for them! Wish I were near a TV.
Bush will be in Portland, OR and (I think) southern CA this weekend speaking all over the place about the economy. Stay tuned!

For those of us who can't watch, did any of the big three networks pre-empt any of the soaps or talky type shows to let tommy talk instead? Or are his numbers too low to go there. (hehehehe)

Your comment about Hillary writing the speech is probably very close to the truth.

Daschole's speech is a refrain of the song sung by the Democrats and their supporters in the press. That so many of them sing so loudly and nearly in unison indicates that there is a conductor.

Could this mean that we were not in a bad economy almost two years before the co-presidents took over??? Wow, CNN better start doing their math! Hey, CNN, it's the economy, stupid!

It seems to me that as long as this bickering continues nothing is going to get done. Tax cuts are in order but enhancing the bottom line of major corporations by doing away with the alternative minimum tax is not reasonable. Meanwhile we all suffer while the bickering goes on.

but enhancing the bottom line of major corporations

Corporations should not pay taxes in the first place.

And CNN wonders why they don't have any credibility anymore. Did you hear Watts explaining to Judy that there was no way the tax cuts could have caused the recession since they don't go into effect for a long time? DUH. Facts NEVER bother them, do they?

Let me say first off that I know NOTHING about the economy except what I read on this forum; now my question: is it true what I am hearing, that the economy is already starting to turn around?

"We all suffer"? Speak for yourself! I don't wait around for someone in Washington to do something! Never have, never will. How wimpy!

Your "economy" is on your own pockets. You tell me, how is YOUR economy doing?

I dson't think he's running..you've got..what...6-12 Dem senators with presidential aspirations.....can't belive they'd let Tom get all the press as Majority Leader unless he's told them he's not running..I think his strategy is to see if he can hold the Sen in 2002..which I doubt, and I think the dems will lose the other seat in SD, which shows that Tom's coattails ain't long...and if, perchance, all the other dem candidates self desctruct or don't go anywhere, then he may try to claim the nomination....
