The GOP always picks the team player, and Keyes is not. Keyes can't be the team player because then he'd have to deal with people he considers evil. In the Keyes mind, if Keyes deals with evil people than what is he? Evil.

If he actually managed to get elected, he'd have a heck of a time dealing with that evil Congress, wouldn't he? One good thing, we wouldn't have to worry about any new laws for 4 years -- Keyes wouldn't be able to get any passed, and he wouldn't sign any THEY passed!

Yeah, well, Bob Dull was definitely the team player. Odd that he lost to the criminal billhilly.

Dull ain't been offered a job for his stuttering mush. Keyes has because he has a ready made (and soon to be converted) audience.
