Fluff? I don't think so!

Let me try to explain. The debates are really to present the candidates to the American voters. They are NOT debates in the classical sense.

Gore lost votes because of his sighs, his smarmy attitude, and his bad make-up. He actually won the debate as far as words. Big deal.

I wanted to WIN. Principles are important, but if your candidate loses you will be living under someone else's principles. Plus, as I already state earlier in this thread, I thought Bush would be a great president. I trusted him, I thought him exceptionally honorable and decent, and I liked him.

Try as hard as I can, I do NOT like ALan Keyes. And most voters don't, either. His was a hopeless candidacy.

..."And most voters don't, either"....City your sources, please....and be sure to include anything to do with name recognition.....I daresay you'll find that his name was little more recognized at election time than it was in January or February 2000. It's not very 'fair' to say most voters don't when the fact is most voters don't know who the hell he is. :)
