So, name the rest of them.Specifically he was nominated for Senate from Maryland twice. This is equal to the total number of nominations that President Bush received prior to being nominated for President. It is also two more nominations than IKE received before he was nominated for President. I realize that Bush was elected Governor, I never claimed that Keyes was more experienced politically than the President.
In any case the point was made in response to a poster who was saying that Keyes was the candidate of the Libertarian party, and was not a Republican. Is that your view? Now back into your cave, until your Dark Lord summons you.

..."First off Alan
Keys is not a republican. He was the Libertarian Party candidate in 2000"...
And you're ridiculous statement is supposed to be believable.....ROTF!

First off Alan Keys is not a republican. He was the Libertarian Party candidate in 2000... Not only wrong, but decidely wrong. Keyes wouldn't touch the Libertarian agenda with a 10 foot pole.
Keyes was one of seven or so who ran in the Republican presidential primaries.

Whew....conflicts......while I adore Dr. Keyes and what he has to say most all the time, I surely won't PAY to carry the garbage from that station....UNLESS they were to give him a, say for instance, 2 - 3 hour show!
That said, Brian Lamb alluded to this 'wooing of Keyes' this morning on Washington Journal on CSPAN.

As far as I know, he's never been the nominee for the GOP for a national job, has he?
I didn't realize that two nominations for state office (well, one was an appointment, right?) was defined as "so many times people criticize him for it.)

1) Keyes is much too smart for the "rest of us" to understand.
Or they'll say
2) It's because he's black.
I'm alsmost certain that they'll say Keyes is too smart for us to understand. Forget that Keyes is irritating, has an incurable superiority complex and is FAR, FAR, FAR to the end of the Right Wing. I'll be watching Greta.

When I ran for office, I didn't have to get any 'authorization' or 'nomination' from the Republican Party. I merely went to the court house and filed the papers listing my party as the Republican Party, which it was back then.

Over the weekend, C-Span reran the debate Keyes had with Alan Derschowitz last summer. That may have been his best performance ever. He tore the noted Harvard
legal scholar demagogue completely apart. At one point, Derschowitz was so flustered he must of forgot who he was debating. He tried to play the Holocaust Card, (it had nothing to do with the point at hand) and Keyes just smiled and asked if he could then play the Race Card. It was great!
I hope Keyes does get a show, but if so, I think its a safe bet that Dershowitz will never be a guest. If he got any more beatings like that, the guy would be on permanent disability.

I'd certainly love to see a program on some satellite channel whereby Keyes discussed the Declaration, the Constitution, and the Founding Era....philosophical differences between the 'isms'.
Can you imagine a program with he and Dr. Cleon Skousing (sp) discussing, for instance, Article 1, Section 8....just what are the powers of the Congress critters, or the total actual powers of the fedgov.
It certainly would allow adults to attend what could be classified as one of the best educational forums in the history of the country.

Here is what I said:
[[[I hope this happens. You only need to hear Alan Keyes once or twice to know exactly what he will say for the next 20 years. "He's the most moral person on the planet and his followers are the same -- nobody else has anything worthwhile to say and GW is worse than Hitler".]]]
In other words it is Keyes who will assert that GW is worse than Hitler. I do not think that. I support GW. I do not support Keyes.
For all those who worship Alan Keyes, I think he is totally predictable in what he will say, and therefore not particularly interesting. Keyes is a black/white kind of thinker -- simplistic rather than complicated.
Keyes also seems incapable of getting along with others. So I say, I hope this happens, because he will fail. Once he has been rude and condescending to his guests to a point where they won't return, what's he going to do -- pretend to be talking to someone?
Hope that is clear..

..."Having an articulate black Republican on TV every night, even one who is well to the right of Bush on many issues, will not be a bad thing for the GOP. Far from it. GO ALAN!"...
Apparently you do not understand! There is to be NO criticism of the President! Do you hear? Do you understand? NONE. ZIP. NIL. ZILCH. NADA.
Resume regular indocrination now.

Greta had the second highest ratings show behind Larry King on CNN. She'll do okay. When Paula Zahn left I believe Roger Ailes stated something like he could put a dead racoon in that time slot and still win in the ratings. I guess we'll see if Roger Ailes is right.

Well, there you go, KFP....and the Bush supporters complain about Keyes! ROTFLMAO!
BTW, I can't wait, if he does happen to get a show, to hear what he really meant as offered by the Bush folk to the way he happened to smile, or shifted his eyes to the left, or to the right...or if he looks at his watch....and heaven help us all if he tries to slick back his hair!!
