PAGE SIX/Lock & loaded (Keyes MSNBC Show?)

THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

"As far as I am concerned, someone who takes part in a deliberate, organized attempt to attack the premise of a thread posted about an issue of concern to conservatives is a disrupter, even if they did not organize the attack. By that meaning, you are unquestionably a disruptor."

I never attacked the "premise of a thread posted about an issue of concern to conservatives". I really didn't attack anything......if you would read back.

However, thinking about what you've said, if anyone who "attacks the premise of a thread posted about an issue of concern to conservatives" were a disruptor, we really wouldn't have a FR forum, would we?

I mean most threads posted here by kattracks or JohnHuang2 are about issues of interest to conservatives, and for the most part they are attacked because the liberal media is the source. Now, in this case, Keyes has apparentely joined the media, but now we freepers have to be hands off......or we are designated disruptors?

One last remark. Thanks for not pulling this thread. It is a first calss exhibit of something that ought not to happen here, and I think any fair-minded reader can see where the blame lies. Others may disagree. But it's nice to have the evidence public.

Best wishes to you and FR in the new year,

Richard F.

On the other hand, when you also know that they were college roomates, you might think they were closely tied. On this thread, people have been trying to put a lot of distance between Keyes and Kristol

I'm certainly no fan of Kristol. However, I think some here try to make too much of the fact that they were roomates and probably friends in college. People do change over the years.

While Keyes and Kristol were roomates in college, others were boozing, partying and members of "secret societies" doing who knows what kind of weird things.

You just couldn't resist that last shot, could you?

I'm sure Keyes and Kristol were pure as the driven snow.

I had wanted to mention something further regarding the 'roommates' controvery (apparently it is a controvery to some, certainly not myself)...

Merely having someone room with you at college doesn't mean anything, nothing, zip, zilch, nada. One could have been a real party animal while the other was a bookworm. One could have majored in girls, the other in geology.

About the only thing I see they have in common is the are males and that their last names begin with a "K"....I don't even know if Kristol is married....frankly could care less!

May I suggest to you both that this does little good, and that Jim had said "enough?"

If we really want to discuss, to the extent we know anything about it, the friendship/enmity between Keyes and Kristol, let's have a new thread. I know both men personally, Keyes rather well, Kristol only a bit, though I met Kristol before I met Keyes. I have tried to display what I know, but the replies showed that it didn't matter much what I said, so perhaps the whole exercise is futile.

Much better, I think, to try for peace here.

I suggest a moratorium on comments on Keyes' show until it airs.

If all goes well, I now gather that it would be Jan. 21, though I believe that final arrangements are yet to be made. I am getting all this third hand, and would not like to be quoted on it. I may well be wrong.

If there is a Keyes/Kristol thread, I'll be glad to contribute what I know. Innuendo and dark suspicions I would not like to see ... but I can't control anyone, just hope for the best.

Regards to you both, and to all,

Richard F.

He was the Libertarian Party candidate in 2000...

Like HECK he was. I did his videotaping for archives in the N.H. Primary, him going to MSNBC would truly be awesome.

G'Bye Fox ...

Since comprehension appears to be a problem for you, here's some assistance:

Main Entry: 1enough
Pronunciation: i-'n&f; after t, d, s, z often &n-'&f
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English ynough, from Old English genOg
(akin to Old High German ginuog enough), from ge-
(perfective prefix) + -nOg; akin to Latin nancisci to
get, Greek enenkein to carry -- more at CO-
Date: before 12th century
: occurring in such quantity, quality, or scope as to fully
meet demands, needs, or expectations
synonym see SUFFICIENT

Get a clue, KFP and at least some respect for a polite request from Jim Robinson. Please spare me any more pings if they are merely for the purpose of feuding.

Just another load of manure rising to the surface! Why is this such a common characteristic of the legal profession?

My point was that you shouldn't judge a person by whom he had as a roomate in college a long time ago, any more than you should by any other mistakes he made that long ago.

Comprehend?

Happy Feast of the Epiphany, and always be of good cheer!

We'll do the Keyes/Kristol thread later, if anyone cares.

Meanwhile, don't bait the harpies. It does no one any good. And, frankly, I don't care what any of us did in college ... I'm not proud of all that I did, and I guess that's true for a bunch of us.

Best to you, and to all,

Richard F.

I think a Keyes/Kristol thread would be a waste, since the fact that they were college roomates is irrelevant. That was the point the response I posted to three of the people who have been discussing the matter on this thread.

I'm not baiting anyone, but just demonstrating that if you want to cast aspersions on someone by whom he had as a roomate in college, then by that standard every person is open to having his college days looked at. There are worse things than having a roomate with questionable political views.

A thread on Keyes/Kristol being roomates would be about as relevant as a thread about President Bush's drinking days. In other words, irrelevant.

You know the old saying about living in a glass house...

In other words: Don't call the harpies names.

I suggest that everyone, on both sides, respect Jim's instructions to can it!
