THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

"It seems to be the reason most people voted for GWB."

Let me educate you there. I voted for Alan Keyes in the primary last year. I then observed his behavior after it was already obvious that he had lost the nomination (ie. at the convention) I wondered what kind of animosity he could have toward his party to withold his delegates in that way. Then I started paying closer attention to his supporters. It became very clear from there. I not only voted for GWB in the general, but I volunteered for him. Ever since then, Keyes and his supporters have done nothing but attack GWB and I have to ask why? Steve Forbes doesn't do this.....

It's still pitiful to think that a point is made because of the number of people willing to adhere to it.

It's even dumber to keep insisting that you and you alone are right when so many other people, not all of whom are as dumb as you all would like to have the world believe, think you're DEAD wrong in your approach to things.

Are you ignoring my question? Are you saying that I am less than Hitler?

And now are you saying that anyone who see Keyes as coming across as thinking that no one else has anything worthwhile to say is not capable of rational thought?

Then cite it.

PhiKapMom will be along shortly to show it to you, not that you'll believe it.

I am afraid that based on your attitude on this thread, and similar ones

Ah, if I were babbling inchoherently like you are, I wouldn't have the NERVE to discuss how anybody else responds to threads.

My view is that Keyes and Keyes supporters think they are superior to everyone else and yet they won't admit that nor discuss it.

I would say Keyes is intellectually superior to most everyone. NO ONE wanted to debate with him - he mops the floor with all those wanna be pseudo-intellectuals. That man is brilliant. And he's got the cajones to NOT back down. I watched him debate Alan JerkOwitz - he mopped the floor with him as well.

It is a good point. When 280,000,000 people think you're wrong, maybe you are.

I believe that the name of this particular form of logical fallacy is the ad populem argument, a form of appealing to a false authority.

If I'm not mistaken, Keyes didn't even come out for Bush until almost ten days before the election.

I mean, what WAS the point of that.

But he has thrown it away with cheap shots to prove petty points.

He made the same "cheap shots" in the debates as he does now.

There is no doubt he is quite smart, and that he is exceedingly good at debate.

The question is: could he lead a nation of disparate opinions, form coalitions, and rally his people in Congress to get legislation passed? Could he cajole foreign leaders to his way of thinking? Could he persuade those from the opposite side to join in legislation?

I am afraid the answer to all these questions is "no." That is why he doesn't draw more supporters.

How about listing all the ones he was NOMINATED for; not the ones he RAN for; list ALL the ones you say that he has been NOMINATED for so frequently.

Now Now Now. LOL you're asking for facts. :)

NO ONE wanted to debate with him

We hear that a lot; is that something that Keyes people keep telling themselves so they don't have to face the fact that, even AFTER seeing this wonderful debater, people STILL didn't vote for him?

If he's SUCH a good debater, why didn't he WIN the nomination and the presidency????

I look forward to your reply, telling us all how we just can't handle smart people like Keyes and all that drivel.

Thanks for admitting that you think that Keyes is intellectualy superior to most everyone. We're getting somewhere :)

Do you think that Keyes is intellectually superior to Dick Cheney? To Karl Rove? To Steve Forbes?

Clinton is smarter than most people, too -- don't you think?

..."In other words it is Keyes who will assert that GW is worse than Hitler"...

Well, there you go, KFP....and the Bush supporters complain about Keyes! ROTFLMAO!

Not all Bush supporters but the Bush worshippers and Keyes bashers. They don't even realize how hilarious they are! They are making this place seem more like Fool's Republic.

Your standard of reliability would allow no criticism of President Bush unless you yourself actually heard him say something or he published it on the White House web site.

If the New York Times and the Washington Post and James Carville all said that the President planned to exterminate the Jews in gas chambers, and the President denied it, I would want to see some evidence stronger than their word. I guess you wouldn't. That means that you are a much more credulous person than I am (I was previously of the opinion that I was particularly gullible, but it looks like you beat me there)

Hey don't be dawging out a NC Neighbor! :) It's no secret that the liberal media did a blackout of Keyes deliberately because he doesn't trot around on the liberal plantation - he's his own man. If you think you can out-debate him - have at it (I sure wouldn't). LOL

"Not all Bush supporters but the Bush worshippers and Keyes bashers. "

Let me ask you this....can you take honest critcism? Can you try to understand why you lose voters? Because I'm deadly sincere in my remarks.
