THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

Well MSNBC hired Oliver North too... And North bombed. I don't see where Keyes won't have the same fate as North.

he's never been the nominee for the GOP for a national job

If United States Senator from Maryland is not a national job, what is, other than President and VP? And enough times for people to criticize him for it, I have discovered that there are people around here who criticize him for the color of his tie, or any other reason they can invent, present company most certainly included.

Enough times=twice.

And this may come as a big surprise to you, but there are a lot of people around here who do not LIKE Alan Keyes......and haven't liked him for a long time.

FOX might have to bounce Greta and have Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell co-host a 10pm show if they want to win the ratings war.

Wow. I would pay to see that!

And this may come as a surprise to you, but there are also some who put the well being of their country above their personal likes and dislikes. But they would have to be patriots, and you have no understanding of that.

Spoken like a true disciple of Alan Keyes.

Are you now contending that if I don't agree with Alan Keyes I'm unpatriotic? Are you insinuating because I don't degrade people like you and Mr. Keyes do that I don't have the best interest of my country in my heart?

And then you all are SHOCKED when people have such a vile opinion of him and you all. Has it never occurred to you all that it's not the message that people object to, but the messenger and his Kool Aid drinking followers?

If you think Dr. Keyes is going to be able to talk about pro-life issues and the Declaration of Independence, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

If you prove wrong, will you pay us a decent toll for the use of that bridge?

:)

Best wishes,

Richard F.

to hear what he really meant

I thought this was YOUR job, telling us all how dumb we are not to understand what Keyes actually said, when the words are right in front of us.

He'll never get this show anyway.

What are you talking about? I'm not a Keyes supporter. I just hope he gets this tv spot so people can really see him for what he is.

"Imagine having spent the last 6 months in a cave,
and you turn on TV for the first time...

on Fox News, you see Geraldo Rivera and Greta Van Sustern...
you see Fox on the lower right hand corners, but don't believe your eyes...
you then hit the clicker to MSNBC and see Alan Keyes...

Actually there are no human beings who have such an opinion of Dr. Keyes, only a few sub human trolls. The conservative movement, through its institutions such as the American Conservative Union, and the Conservative Political Action Conference which is being bannered on FR these days, honors Dr. Keyes, and is featuring him as a major speaker, along with his fellow conservative leaders 'Oliver North, Wayne LaPierre, Sean Hannity, David Horowitz, Ann Coulter, Ambassadors Alan Keyes and Jeanne Kirkpatrick, Senators Jesse Helms, Phil Gramm, and James Inhofe, Congressmen Bob Barr, Chris Cox and Tom Tancredo, MSNBC "Hardball" host Chris Matthews, Gary Aldrich, Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Phyllis Schlafly'. (By the way, I think Matthews is there as the one token liberal they bring on to debate). Just where are you and your fellow servants of the Dark Lord on the list, hmmm?

There is one other reason MSNBC could be seriously looking at hiring Keyes: they need a known Bush-basher on board.

Thanks for the ping, Howlin.

Bingo, Miss M. MSNBC no more likes Alan Keyes than they do Bush but I guess it is "an enemy of my enemy is my friend". Keyes would play right into their hands and his ego would dwarf any scruples he might pretend to possess. I can just imagine it.........Alan Keyes - Pawn Extraordinaire.

Fox just hasn't gotten to outright blatant Bush bashing hosts.......yet!!!
Give them time!
However, I doubt that even Bush Bashing will get MSNBC more listeners.

Alan doesn't "bash" George Bush, OldFriend.

He doesn't kiss up to Bush, either.
Keyes doesn't follow the rest of the herd.
He follows his beliefs.

I think Keyes has the right idea.
