Not inclined to pay much attn to GV, but I've never thought that TR should be on Rushmore with Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington. Of course, it could be that sense that no one in this century could stand up to those three.

He's there because he inspired a generation of Americans to place him there.
That begs the question, does he deserve to be there? I don't rate him with the Founders or Lincoln. He rated himself with them. We'll have to fight it out in posterity.
Glad, though, that you question him. TR wrote too much of his own history, and too many people have fallen for it.
