Apparently you don't take the Fouding Fathers bit about "citizen-politicians" very seriously. Would you be happier if he had been a corporate lobbyist? Or how about a rich daddys-boy who never had to work a day in his life? You need to wake up.

No, it is you who need to wake up. Buchanan's ideas are borrowed from the 19th century. We have already seen where such isolationism leads us (WWI, Pearl Harbor, etc), and it ain't pretty. Sad to say, the world does need a policeman. Our military is the only insulation that we have against tyranny. And that tyranny is now trying to come home to us. Building a wall around the country (as Buchanan would like to do) won't keep you safe. Nor will creating protectionist tariffs. Nor will covering your eyes and hoping that the bad guys will just leave us alone if we promise not to put troops overseas. We are past the point of no return as an economic power. It is our economic strength that causes us to be a threat to many uncivilized nations -- and Pat would like us to simply back out and ignore the problem. Sorry, no takers here.

As for qualifications for office, Buchanan is not fit to lead this country. He hasn't so much as held a political office -- not even dogcatcher. Bush has been twice governor of the State of Texas. Daddy couldn't buy that election for him. He did it on his own. So, scoff if you will, but at least Bush earned the presidency. Buchanan, by comparison, is an empty suit.

Bravo, and worth repeating!

The world needs a policeman?

It is my honest opinion that if we aren't entangled in every other countries Bull sh*t, we wont have these damn problems of these murdering freaks and fanatics flying jet airliners into skyscrapers. The problems in the Mid East, Russia, China etc, are *NEVER* going to go away. Do we want to be part of their BS?

I believe the cracks are showing in the global intervention foundation. I also believe that continuing this down this path of global interventionism will end in chaos for the United States, as we have everything to lose. Much of this global interventionism is based on nothing but greed and power. In my honest opinion, this will lead to nothing but MORE trouble for the United States.

We could be very independent and still trade with friendly nations, and still have the worlds biggest and meanist military for *defense purposes* or even offensive purposes if needed, while at the same time, be very independent. We don't need to be and shouldn't be the global cop!

I feel its about time for the United States to become more independent. We were warned, many years ago about foreign entanglements. We should take notice.

The sentiment of Washington and the other founding fathers was that the military should be called upon only when the USA is directly threatened by an enemy. There was a profound reason for this position, namely the fact that history shows that war results in lots of corpses abroad and the loss of freedoms at home.

Perhaps you should keep that in mind.

Worshipful Bushfan, MFN & criminal aliens may well be the final blow. The INS says that a very significant percentage of border crashing criminals are other than Mexican. You see, they even have a label for this catagory. MFN is a tool of the devil-when it links us to evil people ( & the past & current China gov's are evil ). Support for our nation's self-defense from terror has not altered these facts. Mr. Buchanan has caused great reaction from the weak-minded leftests & dupes of the the left who have been trained to attack us at every point.

Carved in the stone archway over the foyer of the Bush Library ( in College Station,Texas ) is the name of the Peoples Republic of China-a major contributor to the project.

Your vaunted Bush has conducted a very impolitic & politicaly adulterous affair ( at Crawford ) with Citizen Fox ( he of the land of infinite corruption, drugs & death.

What strange & awful company have both the new Renaldus Magnus & the former Pres. Bush been keeping! The former Bush fades from view & the Marlboro Man becomes our unquestioned, brave, new leader.
