Say what you will, but even that old Protestant "devil" Charles Haddon Spurgeon (who went so far as to accuse the Catholic Church of being the Whore of Babylon) would find more common ground with old time Catholics than today's. The Pope has been quoted as saying that Muslims will go to heaven. That is directly against Scripture. This has been covered here on FR many times. Too many Cathollics get mad when it is pointed out, so you dont see it much more.
